So recently I purchased a 2007 Ford Focus with 90k miles on it and there has been this issue since I purchased it. Basically, the car shakes like crazy. From a quick Google search, it seems that all signs point to a broken or damaged motor mount, but when I recieved the car, the mechanic that looked at it said that the mounts looked fine. For whatever reason, I have a hard time accepting that statement. It seems that could be the only issue. How would I go about diagnosing a "broken" or "damaged" motor mount? I know there's 3, the hydrolic mount on the passenger side, the bone-looking one under the car, and I believe there is one on the driver side. How would I locate and determine if there is a problem with any of them? Or would I not be able to "see" if it's damaged? When going around 50ish mph, the shaking either isn't happening or is not noticable. It's really annoying because everything that is slightly loose in the car shakes and rattles uncontrollably so I have to blast the radio so I don't go insane. The steering wheel shakes a lot too. Its funny because whenever I go in other cars, it feels like they are electric because im not used to the quietness. Any suggestions? TY in advance.
