Hi all,

New guy here. Looking for some advice please.

I have a focus 2016 with sync 2. I am in the process of purchasing a sync 3 from a crashed car amd going to install in my focus.

Is there any programming or such i need to get done after such? I also don't have a reverse camera and I'm happy to stick with what i currently have, which is, when the car is out in reverse a picture of a car comes up with the proximity sensors, green, yellow, red. Will this feature automatically appear in the sync 3 or will i have to program that also?

Apologies if I'm not coming across clear.

Thanks

Stick with sync 2 as sync 3 is utter rubbish.

I have it in my ST3 and it really let's the car down.

Are you joking? SYNC 2 is utter ste IMO, SYNC 3 is so mush smoother and better laid out. SYNC 3 can be added to a older car without replacing the unit

This post is totally backwards. The sync3 is much better.

Mines crashed on average twice a week, needing a reset each time.

The nav locks up, needs a reset to fix

It won't sync apps, in fact Spotify no longer supports Ford Sync so it's now totally useless to me. There are no other apps that work according to the Ford Sync catalogue.... Great.

Radio always defaults to AM when I start my car, even though it was left on a dab or FM preset.

Nothing wrong with it according to Ford, they're all widely discussed issues with lots of people having the same trouble as me.

It's just not fit for purpose and compared to other brands systems it's shocking.

Enjoy it whilst you can.....

The only way to use it now is via Android Auto, which is just a pain in the ass having to plug the phone in.

I havent driven the car for a couple of weeks. Very annoying if its no longer working.

Android Auto doean't need plugging in though? Works via bluetooth.

There’s a new software which address most of the instability issues that you can easily install yourself from a USB stick. Doesn’t fix the Spotify issue of course, but can you not just stream from Bluetooth like you would any other music?

Overall, it’s still way better than Sync 2, which was like trying to navigate a speak and spell.
