Hi chaps, does anyone know anything about the RS 500 Cosworth that's for sale on EBay? It's the one in the Texaco livery? Thanks

It doesn't seem to have been out in public for most of it's existence.

I'd suggest the Ford RSOC RS500 registrar is one of a few people likely to know much about it.

Or a Ford employee from the relevant dept from the 80s.

As above - i'd imagine Paul Linfoot from North Yorkshire RS Spares will probably know it's history - as mentioned in the previous post he's also the RS500 Registrar for the RS Owners Club.

It's not an RS500, just a 3dr motorsport shell built up using the usual cosworth bits. Looks well presented in the advert with a nice track car spec.

Because the advert says it's built up from a 3 door bodyshell using Cosworth Bits!

Nowhere does it say it's a RS500.... or even a 3dr Cosworth.

Now that is a proper 500.

Not sure it'll fetch that price, buyers of those tend to prefer standard. Does look all present and correct, just the graphics and wheels. Doesn't say whether the graphics were fitted from new, which I doubt.

I thought that about the graphics but I think they could be removed? It looks like a good honest car though? I've spoken to the dealer that's selling it and apparently someone from ford heatige has said its the real deal?

The site is literally called Dealer Auction but is trade only.
