So I've recently brought a mondeo st 2.2 tdci hatchback it's a 6 speed manual witch I've never owned a 6 speed before just wanting some advice on the car as it seems to me that the car does not pull like I expected in first or second gear seems like it revs more than it dose picking up speed as 20 mph in frist 30 if really push it and as for second seems like doesn't wanna go over 40 mph seems kinda wired to me dose pull in 3rd gear so just wounding if that's normal for these kind of cars as had an ford focus before this witch was only a 1.6 straight pipe it and did 30+ mph in first and over 60 in second gear please any advice will be helpful

My ST220 has torque reduction on 1st and 2nd gear to stop frantic wheel scrabbling I would assume the diesel is similar.

Gearing. Diesels have less flexible power delivery and narrower power bands.

As above, I've had a couple of 2.2 Mk3's, they don't really get going until you're in third gear.

OK so it's a case of just getting use to and feeling comfortable with it I appreciate the replys thanks alot gave me please of mind as won't to sure if was dmf or clutch but she pulls really well in 3rd and not to mention the money am saving on fuel but guess that's to do with the performance from the lower gears
