Hi, I recent bought a 2018 petrol Focus ST and was wondering what sort of MPG to expect from it. The first tank of fuel didn’t last me long and I expected that with it being a new car and having some fun. My second tank I filled up from Shell and currently only getting 21mpg. Does this sound about right?

Thanks in advance.

about right for round town driving if your fairly heavy footed..you can likely get 30 mpg on a good run

presume you have an ST EcoBoost 250?

If so my mates had his since new, gets low to mid 20's on just local use, rises to low 30's on longer motorways based runs. Official was 40mpg combined, I know he's never got that even when just on sole motorway use.

Yeah Ecoboost 250. Currently averaging around 22mpg. Sounds like that’s about right. Any ideas if getting a map will improve things?

Sounds low to me - what sort of driving though? I get low 20s over lots of short trips and urban driving (winter lockdown especially!), but mixed driving should be around 30, and solely long journeys about 35.

Long journeys accordibg to the mpg in the car I get 38.4 mpg.
Short journeys around town we havent really noticed as we havent driven it much as we bought it in lockdown.
We do have the montund 275 upgrade on it so that may affect mpg?

I have noticed over longer journeys with cruise control it’s not too bad. Problem is my journeys to and from work is about 5 mile and lower gears with all the roundabouts and what have you.

Thanks for the reply! Appreciate it.

I’ve a 2012 mk3 Focus ST which usually is around 26mpg day to day town driving, and a 2006 mk2 Focus ST never see’s above 20mpg same driving style.
