Mondeo Aerial

Afternoon. Wondering if anyone here could tell me if this is a screw in aerial. It's a 57 Plate mondeo Ghia and am looking at fitting a shorter one so it doesn't interfere with the roof bars.

The mast will screw onto the base but if its been on there since new, likely it will be stuck on. Replacing the whole thing isn't hard - just a couple of bolts that you can find if you unclip the plastic trim in the headliner. Takes 5 mins.

Fairs, I was hoping to just get some grips & try & wrench it off. Had a look at the tabs & I may get one of my more mechanically minded friends to have a look

If you do that, expect it to snap - the metal is like cheese! The base and mast aren't expensive though, so you can always try and if it breaks, just replace the whole thing.
