Got the car now doing battle with Octopus who are putting every possible barrier in the way of getting the charger installed.
Think I will have a battle coming, ordered two cars one with charger, but I only want the charger not to move to Octopus.
I think a lot of people are going to have a battle with Octopus.

From what I’ve seen, many of their jobs seem to prioritise speed and convenience for the installer rather than what’s best from a technical or aesthetic standpoint.

The trend of slapping an outdoor consumer unit on the wall and calling it a day really needs to stop.

Having the opposite problem. Theyre being extremely pernickity.

We have an odd driveway, which we intend on sorting next year.

Our wallbox install is standard. However theyre insisting on us digging a trench and installing a post at a cost of £1000 to move the charger on a post in the middle off the drive, off the wall of the house, because when the ev is plugged in if its on the wall, the lead will cross a path.

A path that is my own private path, on private land.

I dont see why the routing of the ev cable to the wallbox is their concern on my own land.

I ordered on the 7th September and finance took a while. My email address was wrong and so was the spelling of my name so I didn t get confirmation until mid October.

I ve just received an email from my dealer though saying the car is built and in transit and will be here in 2 to 4 weeks.

So it will come good, charger being installed by Octopus on 3/12 as well so all good.
Good news, which dealer was this with?

Anyone actually collected a 139 deal car from Hartwell yet?

I feel a bit bad seeing the challenges many have had. We ordered mid sept, finance accepted within 2 days and then got offered a cancelled slot and collected the car first week of Oct.

Sound like I did the right thing taking the cancelled car and all in for £169 for a premium edition.

Only challenge now is sorting the mileage credit with octopus. I have a screenshot from Ford’s chat stating I didn’t need to opt for the charger in order to get the credit under their Power Promise. I already have a charger so made no sense to opt for it.

Now seem to be in a black hole with ford saying they’ve not referred me for the credit as I didn’t take the charger. Gonna have to go down the proper complaints route but it’s likely to be complicated as it’s technically octopus that would credit my account. Am pushing for Ford just to pay me a couple of hundred £ to get rid of me!

bit pissed with Hartwell as I ordered in plenty of time for a stock model but went factory as there was a specific option I wanted added
Then they put the order in as a factory order, all approved, except without the option. “Don’t worry, we’ll add it on later, lots of cars being processed right now blah blah”

Now they can’t add the option as it changes the price and the finance would need reworking, and won’t be the same deal as before confused

Could you reroute the path? Just put a bit of turf down or something? Or a few flowerpots? Once the deed is done you can take them away again.

How have you booked the charger without being in receipt of the car?
I thought you had to take delivery first.

Ordered at the start of September through DM Keith.
Signed ringways documents and was advised there was an issue initially with system being down.

I’ve spoken with ALD twice since who state the order is canceled their end.
Whilst DM Keith/Ringways saying they are waiting for something ALD end?

Seems abit of a farce that both blaming each other whilst nothing progresses.

Anyone else in the same boat?

Bit annoying with this deal how it seems so random as to whose getting what when. I ordered 05/09 so must have been relatively speaking one of the first yet no build date in sight still . Finance approved etc.

For those who didnt take charger but are with octopus and want the credit please do keep us in the loop as im in the same situation but havent chased this up yet.

Just chased hartwell shorpe after writing the above saying some people seem to be getting build dates or cars even on their way, to be told factory orders aren’t moving as quickly as i’ve suggested. So, whose lying?! Haha.

Basically said it’s unlikely to see the car this side of xmas. Disappointing but not much can do about it.

Does anyone know if you need a VIN before the charger can be ordered?

I was told that the VIN number was needed before the dealer would contact Octopus to request the charger. This was DM Keith ordered 19 September, although I think with some of the early September orders, the charger was request at the time of order. I was told that I should receive something from Octopus about 4-5 weeks prior to delivery, which is currently stated as 31 January.

I was about to suggest, perhaps there is some slow down at the factory.

Plenty off people on the puma fb group taking delivery, although most are not on this deal, paying more or have bought outright, I guess us bargain hunters are way down the list for a car

Yup, I particularly liked one of the owners saying “There are plenty deals to be had. I wouldn't be 4rsed if they cancelled. I've to wait 4-6 months anyway.
My money is good in a lot of places.” Then proceeds to say they put 12 months down and £212 a month! It seems some people’s definition of a deal varies somewhat…

Same here but waiting on finance and have contacted ALD they’ve told me to contact dealer as they require additional info even though I’ve sent everything like drivers license payslips etc 4 times. Contacted dealer via email no response gave a call and the guy I was on the phone to was so rude so I’ve given up now chasing it as neither are helpful and know how to deal with customers.
