TVR Vixen S2 1969 WFD 400H
Discussion
I remember Charlie`s angels.
Fawral Fawcett Major ,Cheryl Ladd and the lass who you mentioned (?).
Something like that, but don`t know what the connection is..
Seem to have lost contact with a couple of TVR historic facebook sites..Have you come across anymore?
Some great TVR Vixen videos on YouTube..Amazed that one car still had a toughened screen that smashed as he was competing.
He never realised that he had one thinking it was a laminated..
Historic Motor racing has been super so far this year..
Silverstone Auctions had a decreped Tuscan ,but famous campaigned one go for £35000+..Ex Modsports championship winning TVR.

Yes,i read all about it also..Bit of a discussion about the appearance of its bodywork that is decrepit though..
It has a super race history and was rebuilt mechanically as you say .No doubt that the cost of that work totalled somewhere near
the achieved price at today`s hourly rate..
I am not a great fan of historic competition cars being of show presentation ,as they were never like that in period, but i would not
pay £35000 + for that stretched of the imagination "patina"..If i actually had £35000+ anyways !!!
It would be nice to have the new owner on here giving an invitation of details of it`s future and the Specification of the "280 bhp "
V6 Essex engine !!
David,
Nothing unusual about 280 bhp Essex race engines these days. Can be achieved on a single carb. My race engine is close to 300 bhp on cast heads with correct six pack.
A good race Essex - nothing special…will be north of £15K so I suspect the rebuild will have been all of 35k
I am a fan of race cars of all eras being in show condition. Goes to show we’re all different

Oh I've loved this thread Keith, read the first page again, then see 'where' your car is now...
The sheer joy of seeing a car saved, the contributions from its previous owner, the pictorial record of its restoration, the highs and lows and your ultimate success... this is PH at its absolute best... you'd never get this on Fakebook, and even if you could, you'd then never find it again! Which is why we must support these forum sites and keep them going...

Yes,i must be getting senile too as i have just twigged what Farah Fawsett Major had to do with this ..The sun screen picture across the front windscreen !The sheer joy of seeing a car saved, the contributions from its previous owner, the pictorial record of its restoration, the highs and lows and your ultimate success... this is PH at its absolute best... you'd never get this on Fakebook, and even if you could, you'd then never find it again! I have had a few flashbacks of my brief WFD ownership recently, like when the nearside trunnion broke as i was coming to a halt a a junction one evening. It felt like the engine had dropped out of the chassis.
The previous day i had been doing a fast corner at around 70 mph from Hutton to Billericay..Nice of WFD to break later and not before.
