Dissassembly of Tuscan is complete... what now????

Have had a chat with Paul chance of cl braking and he has confirmed that I have the cerebral 6 bolt caliper s and therefore can fit up to 330mm brake discs up front. Has anyone else fitted this mod to their tuscan? I was wondering if I'd need to upgrade the rear to counter the massive increase in braking power up front?

I've used the dash that came with the car to get the car on the road. It has all the warning and fault codes necessary to ensure the car/engine is running right. I'll investigate a new dash after I know all is running OK. I just want to driver her now, hopefully there will be a few more days sunshine this autumn!RedSpike66 said:

Na, MOT and Tax means I'm good to go. I sent off for the V5 when I first got it and declared, then the car as SORN. A cat c needs a DVLA inspection before you get your V5 back.Re: insurance, I just checked and I had forgotten to declare it as a cat D, but having spoken to them, it hasn';t affected the premium and it just means that I can't get an agreed value on the car. I will contest this and change insurers if I have to, once the car is finished and looks as good as it can. The scratched roof detracts a bit from its true potential at the mo!!! I'll ask the club and any indy whom is willing to value the car to write their valuation onto a letter head for me to keep on file.

I couldn't believe how many cars were in for upgrades the guys are very busy.

Roof now fixed and new paint applied! Think she looks great! Just got the suspension to sort out as rear shocks just aren't right, carpets, re do the dash alcantara, reposition the anderson and that's it....he says. (i'm sure I'll find more jobs, but it will be drivable!)

I've been busy since xmas. Got a real fixed deadline now. The wife is due in June and if the car doesn't get finished now, she never will! The target is to get everything running smoothly for the Burleigh House meet in April.
So progress since last time....
The first thing after xmas was to hang the bonnets and make some bonnet stands. I've use some push/push catches to hold the edges of the small bonnet in place. I didn't like the ball joints clips so I made something a little different.
I wanted to keep as much heat out of the cabin as much as possible and came across this heat reflective material in Homebase. Its a bit like bubble wrap sandwiched between the foil. Its really lightweight.
Then I used duralay treadmore underlay to go under the carpet. Its not that light, but its made of crumbed rubber which makes the carpet nice an plush/soft and should keep road noise down to a minimum. (so I can hear the engine and exhaust in a more refined way!) The chimaera I re-carpeted sounded a bit unrefined. The panels resonated. This should sort it.
The carpet set was from Central TVR.
I've applied Black Alcantara to all the flock surfaces and wrapped the dash and dials (the leather had dried out and cracked). I also quite like the black silver grey combo.
Here are the last few bits I bought from Julian at Fiberon.
