The kebab doesnt appear to be quite as important in the midlands/south yorkshire as it is in the home counties.

I asked for a kebab in sheffield once - I wanted pitta, "meat", salad and chilli sauce, but they couldnt do that...It had to be without pitta, in a box, with chips and no chilli sauce. They couldnt do it without chips and didnt know what a pitta was.

There is now a Kebab place in Bakewell which caused all sorts of planning related issues but I have no idea if it is any good.

If you are looking for an excellent curry and are driving then I would recommend Akbars in Rotheram (not far from Meadowhell).

I`ve often wondered the same mate, mailed him a few times and no reply, on his profile he has`nt been active since feb 2011, he had health problems a couple of years ago, so hope he is ok.

If i remember correctly, he told me at Chatsworth 2010 that it was likely he would have to sell it to fund his business

I've had to cancel due to confirmed broken big toe on clutch foot.... way to painful for driving the Griff. Can't believe it, as only just recovered from seriously bruising the big toe on the other foot (well it's still bruised but no where near what it was and that 4 weeks ago)...... steel toe cap boots for lounging around the house is the order of the day from now on

... so if anyone is looking for a room, there is single room available at the Manor House (cancelled by returning their confirmation of booking email, so they may not of logged it just yet).
