Looking at the vid you sent me Derek, you can see where I let of the gas and hit the brakes, that was from a standing start. Think you said about 27secs
Yes your 0-151 was about 27.
For me to be doing 158 before the cone it has to be somewhat quicker wink
I was probably doing 150 when you were changing to 5th tongue out

That was way before the cone, had to let off cos the bonnet came open.

Good time by all who had a go by the sounds of it. Whilst on the subject of TOP SPEED Am I right in assuming that Brummies Cerb is still the fastest 'recorded' TVR? I've heard a few owners 'claiming' 180 this and 190 that but anyone actually recorded any more than his. What's also impressive is he's done a lot of the work himself scratchchin just a thought.

As far as we are aware, yes, Brummies is at 202mph. Unless the racing TVRs went over 200?

Brummies had a proper recorded time. I've also 'claimed' close to 190, on the speedo, so it'll be less than 180 probably. Not bad on a 15 year old car though.

the runway is 2 miles long, entered from a rolling start as quick as you dare, between 60 and 130mph is usual depending on the car. Obviously you have to build braking into that distance but about 1.5, 1.6 miles from a rolling start.

I would be bouncing off the rev limiter less than 1/2 mile in then. I cant make this one. See you next time with a longer diff wink

Aerodynamics play a big part at those speeds, a good friend who knows a bit on the subject said to me 'air takes on the consistency of yogurt at 200mph', I know from riding bikes you either go stream liner or double the power to find an extra 30mph.

Can't remember the exact speed but to get anywhere near this is truly astonishing, it's really really tough and requires huge power

Gearing (Paul wants a diff that starts with the number 2), and tyres make a difference IIRC.
