Nitron spring rates

Nice One Daz You wont be disappointed they are a a first rate shock and your car will feel awesome once set up.
total agreement with all of the above, and with the new polybushes fitted, the handling and ride will be a vast improvement , and you can be a nitrons tart like the rest of us.Not the same car as yours but I've had Nitrons on my V8S for 8 years now and never had problems. First and best mod I ever did. I ran them with 325 front and 300 rear which was great for bumpy A/B roads with them set around mid point for damping and then stiffened them up about 4-5 clicks for track days. I've just had the same dampers rebuilt and gone for 450 front 375 rear Eibach springs as I hope to do more track stuff next year. I haven't tested them yet but took a lot of advice from specialists I trust and from other owners so pretty sure they'll do the trick
I have a Cerb with nitrons, tried a few spring rates starting with 350 front 300 rear and slowly moving up through 400 and 450. Its very easy to change the springs on the nitron, and the damping, and the springs aren't expensive. I still have a few sets in my garage.
My problem was that the car improved every time I changed.
Currently running the Cerb on 500 front and 450 rear. I wont go any higher than that as the car is now perfect for me.
The car is harsh over pot holes etc, but like a little go-kart on smooth surfaces. I was reasonably happy with 450 400, but I had someone video me on brands hatch and there was a suprising amount of body roll on the long corner going up to the straight.
If I'm honest I would say that 450 400 was better for the road, but being able to drive right up the chuff of tuscans round Brands sealed me on the 500 450.
One piece of advice. There is absolutely no point in messing around with spring rates without the ability to corner weight the car.

I run Eibach 400/350 over Nitrons, on the track I wish they were stiffer, on the road I don't. Good compromise. The standard rates were way too soft for my liking
Yes it's amazing how my 450/400 springs feel very complient at speed, even to the point of thinking I need stiffer!I've now had a chance to try mine - 450/375. Early days yet but it felt really good, certainly not too stiff for the road which was what I was a little concerned about. I've had a roll bar fitted and all bushes replaced as well so that could be contributing but the car has been transformed. I'll give it good run out on the A272 this weekend.
Interesting, I once spoke to a guy about my new spring rates and he said I could go stiffer and still be ok on the road, I've been wondering about bigger ARBs, is this a possibility? look at this picture taken on these current springs at the old hairpin at Donnie... Every time I look at it I think I need to do something
