AWESOME, JUST AWESOME,

saw it running at Oulton Park years ago and it was wild and beautifull to watch.

Keep in that colour Mr Tank, dont remove any paint or stickers and keep that TVR History going for years to come.

Good Luck

Yes that's is one of the ways we can do it.
It's not going to be a easy restoration. As you know I like my cars to be as near original as posable. But in this case it may not be posable!

Andy
Definitely possible and as this car is so important I think it needs to be done.

Indeed I've already said that I think the best approach would be to try and get one of the non working s12 engines and rebuild this as a Static display. If you can get a working s12 all the better but if not an original nonworking engine would be far better than a bastardised example with something else under the hood, If you want something running that looks like a s12 there are a few of us who would love to build a replica..

The 2nd Cebera s12 is a totally different case, being a recreation from much parts, and an original example exists. so that is very different in my book.

It would be fantastic if this car could get back running again it is stunning.

Could anyone shed some light as to what it is sitting on, it looks like a few empty plastic jerry cans! Why is it not on the ground? I presume it is to make it easier to move? but I don't think I have ever seen a car displayed like that.

sat on a pallet and some go jacks by the look of it..

Its not on the ground as its a body and chassis with no suspension connected. The wheels are just propped in place.

Its possible to get anything up and running with the correct amount of money, its just is that a feasible amount to spend.

Just look at the sharknose ferrari replica thats been built from a few parts and some drawings and photos... that did cost millions though..

I was in there yesterday afternoon the car is hugh at 6ft wide! although there is a LOT of work that needs doing to it and a shed load of money spending to bring it back to working condition. They've also got a DE TOMASO PANTERA in as well as well as Spike66 Sag which is a nice car.

I've got say tho' the T350 they've got for sale at £30k is pristine. It looks like its just rolled out of the factory

Hi

Well I will see tommorrow if it can be done for less that £100K plus the purchase price! But it may be silly money for what is in fact a chassis with min suspension, no engine, no trans whats so ether! The wheels are not connected to the car as there are no hubs etc, What's left inside we will see etc!
I have a total budget in mind but I have a felling somebody going to put up a stupid offer way above what the price should be!
If I am unable to get it then I would wish the new owners a lot of luck and hope they restore it to preserve it rather than wreck it!

Buy this I mean bartardising it plus say racing it and wrecking it that way!

TVR have gone and the way some people go on there will not be any true TVRs left just a load of Kit cars which started life as TVR's

I dont necessarily see racing as wreaking it, and there a are lots of historic racers ( especially griffs and granturas) that only exist in there restored state due to classic racing. same for a lot of group C and old F1 stuff.

The trouble with the s12 is that it was a GT1 racer, and there is no where currently for those to run and they were also very expensive to run at the time. They did try with the GT90's series but even that was expensive.
Your probably looking at Group C / formula Boss budgets to race the s12, and thats after you have somehow rebuilt it to original spec...

It would be fantastic to see it doing demo laps though... But I cant see one being raced. I did hear someone suggesting putting an ls in there and they should be shot !!!

Who every does end up with it though, I do hope they'll consider letting us take some body moulds to build a replica,It would be a much milder TVR spec but it would be racing hehe

To be honest I think that needs doing anyway as part of the restoration process.

I would be very interested in a set of body panels.... One way to off-set the costs of buying and restoring?

TBH it's worth what someone is prepared to pay for it and if that figure is more than you want to offer doesn't mean it's a stupid offer.

I agree with Graham, cars like this shouldn't just be mothballed they're meant to race and bringing a car back to race prep in it's proper guise isn't bdising it far from it it's the complete opposite.

As I mentioned above part of the eesoration process should be getting some moulds off it just in case.

definitely its too easy for something like this to get damaged, even without running it. Making a panel without the original would be expensive and much more than taking a few moulds to start with. Im more than happy to facilitate the making of a set too :-)

One of the first things howard did with the white elephant was take a set of moulds from it.
