I have to say my heart dropped when I saw this. I just can't see "TVR" in there at all. It looks like any other angular sports car. Just my opinion but it is a sad, sad day for me personally. frown

I heard 400bhp per ton which equates to ~480bhp given the projected weight of 1250kg.
400bhp/tonne equates to 500bhp; 1000kg being 4/5 of 1250kg

I thought the same, expecting something a lot more outlandish. Still looks great, though, but I did think it would look like no other modern sports car, which it does..

My expectations were too high frown Just like Xmas, the waiting is more exciting than the present party

First view side on thought, enhanced Toyota GT86.....

Was really, really, really hoping for something more outlandish and purposeful. Something like Toyota's FT 1 concept....

I will never be able to afford one so thats that.[url]

Depends which ton (or tonne) you are talking about. 1000kg is a metric ton, but the UK still uses the imperial or long ton, i.e 2240lbs. I suspect TVR are using the latter as 480bhp is quoted in the official Goodwood video.

Good effort and I hope it drives the balls off any 911. The TVR badge is just too big innit?

50/50 it ever hits the roads, at a guess. Company could easily just fold.

David Cameron was PM.
Obama was president.
Trump was just a joke character off the telly.
Brexit was just a fantasy for the drooling right.
Mugabe was in charge in Zimbabwe.
Jaguar hadn't made a single SUV.
BoJo was London Mayor
Nobody had heard of Meghan Markle.
Tesla had one model and sales were just beginning to take off.

The world has changed but still the geniuses behind "TVR" haven't been able to knock up a single road going car.

That is telling.

When the thread started four years ago I was excited.

Then the body was unveiled and I thought meh, but at least it'll have a lary bespoke engine to make it different from all the other rubbish on the road.

Then the engine was unveiled and I thought Meh, a middle of the road standard American engine, but at least riccado will breathe fire into it and it'll be awesome.

Then the fire didn't happen, and the four years haven't been kind to the looks of the car, and no ones listened to the comments.

Fair enough, he's building what suits him and it seems to be a plus if someone else likes it. I can't help thinking though if you want a TVR stop waiting for a car that even if it is made in numbers will never be a TVR.
