I love TVRs and I thank you biggrin
Great thread. Still loving my Tuscan nearly 12 yrs, and 47k miles later. Has covered many chunks of the UK and much of Europe in between.

Think that pic is in Harringworth, literally on the border of Northants and Rutland.

So, just in case you were wondering about the scaffold boards....

....the drive was the wrong gradient to allow free passage into the garage. So, 32 tonnes of concrete removal later the TVR will fit in the garage with about 1cm to spare. Still, enough is enough!

How much more love can you show for your car? cloud9

They bite alright.

Got my 3000M from David Gerald in March 1987.

Continuous TVR ownership since then.

Tammy tucked up in the garage over winter, but she'll be out and about soon enough.

Loved reading this.

It must have been wonderful having a TVR as a company car in the day. I'd imagine that your boss wouldn't have been too pleased to see your fuel bills coming in each month whilst you racked up those mileages!

I'm a relatively newcomer to TVRs having had a Chimaera Mk3 for 18 months then part exchanging it for a Tuscan earlier this year.

Swap over day at a well known dealer in Warwickshire.

I had a Chimaera as a company car between 1998 & 2001 and did nearly 70k in it. We spent almost as much in maintenance as the car cost, it was always a bit of a challenge submitting the expenses claim (even not claiming fuel). I remember the first MOT being £2k. It was wonderful (as I wasn't paying and wouldn't have been able to afford it personally) but TBH doing those miles meant I fell out of love with it by the end when it was pretty knackered. Now putting under 2k per year on a Tuscan as a 3rd car keeps the thrill alive (and the labour rates are a good bit lower than they were 20 years ago).

Well.....this is a post I never thought I'd be making!

Almost exactly 25 years later I'm now bereft of a TVR. I've fantastic memories of wonderful times but the time was right to mover her on.

There's so many things I'll never forget that will make me smile. Changing down two gears to make the most noise through the tunnel at Monaco and then having a Ferrari driver pull along side with a massive grin & a thumbs up is one that springs to mind. Being terrorised by traffic in Rome, offloading the ferry in Mallorca & of course holding my breath through Alpine passes.

...or just bimbling along in country lanes. (Or even just opening the garage door to take a sneaky peek hehe)

An excuse for a couple of gratuitous pictures?

I'm also looking to swap my Chim for a Mustang later this year too- I want something newer, V8 and fun that I can drive most days- the Mustang looks a bit of a bargain. My cousin had one of the first ones in the UK and it was bloody awesome!

We will still be keeping our Tuscan though biggrin

I sold my beloved Tamora almost two years to the day, damn that was hard - but I wanted some investment money for my new business. I figured if it works out, I can buy another.

Still miss it like hell, but it seems I will be able to buy another at some point in the near future..
