You’ve ordered one obviously?

What’s the dealer support going to be like for this new TVR, I’m a bit out of the loop now and looking online a few of my old local TVR dealerships seem to have vanished. Will any work or servicing just be done by the old remaining TVR dealers?

So all the old TVR dealers will be used and be able to fix this car? I assumed that it might need something a bit more specialist as my local TVR dealership was a bit rubbish.

Someone paying £100,000 is going to expect MUCH better service than they were offering.

In the "Arriving back from Goodwood" video:

Check around 0:05, cool size-comparison when it's next to the smart roadster.

Very cool video, looks great in the wild. Sound great as well, but difficult to judge due to camera mic. Want more vids and pics !!!!

I'm inclined to agree. It's all absolutely fine when you've got a less expensive car but at £100k and owners who are not traditional TVR buyers then this is an area currently very lacking.

No one wants this conventional glass emporiums built to worship coiffured ponces but I suspect many won't want the traditional 'clubman' level but somewhere in between.

It's a shame they don't piggy back off someone with a national franchise maybe?

Paying over £100k doesn't guarantee much in any case.
A bit of smarm.
A coffee lounge.
Some expensive add ons if you want to pay for them...

I heard that moleskin did not have a proper due dilegence done as part of the sale, perhaps this was because it was a race to buy against a consortium put together by Ben Samuelson and a few dealer owners..
That was never going to happen; he liked Ben. Al M had a bid but even for more money I don't think that that was ever going to succeed because he didn't like Al by then. AFAIK the main competitor was The man from Ginetta.

Personally, I'll use GT101. Apparently they are used to dealing with some performance car or other

It’s not really just about cosmetics and coffee machines etc.

I put up with terrible service from my TVR dealers simply because it was a TVR and that’s what it was like. I had a dealer trying to change a trade in price for a car weeks after the deal was made, I had a dealer trying to tell me it was my fault the roof had come off on the motorway. This kind of thing plus generally poor communication and a lack of professionalism were typical.

I doubt new premium brand customers will be encouraged to buy one if they walk into many of the dealerships I used.

I’m sure some dealers are better than others but I remember on here reading many criticisms of dealerships. Even dealership employees coming on here and bad mouthing customers etc. Hardcore TVR fans put up with it but it won’t attract people considering this new TVR and have just been into an Aston dealership or visited Porsche or Maserati etc.

How sad is that! Having great understanding dealers was all part of the TVR experience for me.

I see that neither driver or passenger are wearing seat belts. Did this car have them fitted?

It certainly wasn’t for me. It’s one of the reasons which eventually stopped me buying another and one of the reasons I assumed they’d gone bust.

Obviously there is or was a difference in standard across the country but that’s not really acceptable when you’re selling the new TVRs

Perhaps it’s no longer the case and things have moved on?

Yeah, that's one of the main-features of the launch-edition: no seatbelts biggrin

Seriously, there were 4 points in the showcar. But since the car is presumably not yet road-legal, they staged that "home coming" part anyway and put on a bit of a show in front of the offices !? But still very much welcome, more please.

Edit: glad they put in a camera, Les crashing the first ever prototype in front of the office on film would have been top-notch marketing stuff !!!!

I'm not sure why you are associating this with just TVR, it happens with all manufacturers.. Some dealers are utter ste whereas others will bend over backwards to help.

You can see the harness's when they both get out. The black wheels were put on at Goodwood for the return trip.

You in Essex Rob? GT101 closest to me. They need to update their web site though, still showing new car as the Autocar render....

Hey I have shotgunned that colour combo lol.

Will look good though eh. Actually I think the orange might be the volcano orange as used by McLaren. Looks amazing.

I actually like the LE wheels in black. It's the diamond cut finish that isn't to my taste. So, lava orange paint with gloss black wheels, black leather with orange stitching. Perfect.

I hate black wheels - for me it needs to be silver/alloy/chrome/shiny/whatever....but not black or indeed any other 'colour'.

And I'm still thinking yellow - as in Sunset Pearl, the 'classic' yellow Cerbera colour. So I'd want black interior and yellow stitching too...just like my old cerb. But purple's running a close second...

Did I understand correctly that rather than a single 'launch edition' colour as suggested at the preview, there would be a number of LE colour choices - four choices rings a bell, but I've no idea where I got that idea from. I do hope there's a decent 'standard' colour choice and we're not having to delve into the realms of expensive 'custom finishes' to get anything other than red.

A minor adjustment with the logo relocated to the grill slat. I think it works quite well, but then I've been looking at it for a little while so my judgment may be skewed.
