All deposits? Says who? Maybe they have, maybe they haven't. There's only 38 on PH, and for a forum that started out as a TVR-only newsgroup does it sound reasonable only 7.5% of the deposit holders are on here? It might become clearer if folks had a heads-up of where they are in the build queue, but 2+ years on this information has not been forthcoming. Whyever not?

Have a read...

The new TVR market is not the old TVR market.
Cynical? Moi? The initial 500 slots may well be all taken...but who knows, apart from TVR. In a previous life we used to run events (sales presentations really) for ERP solutions and we'd advertise dates as 'full' to show how popular they were (but we hadn't even booked venues) and we'd invite folks to go on the 'wait list'. If we got enough folks on the 'wait list' then we'd book things up and tell folks some places had just been freed up. If we didn't get enough folks then the event didn't go ahead, and so no 'wait list' spaces got freed up and the customers were none the wiser! So I've no problems in believing they've 500 deposits; but similarly it won't surprise me if they don't. After all, all this 'first 500' is really just a marketing message anyway - who's to say the 501st car couldn't be exactly the same, or limit the LEs to 250 units. or 70... It's all just marketing. What would be rock-solid to know is where folks are in the queue.

Why not just buy another car while waiting on the TVR, but keep your deposit down for the time being. I would be very surprised if TVR supplied any cars next year to customers anyway.

The press will have a huge part to play in it once they get a car to test it and I don't even think the car TVR showed at the launch was finished, the rear spoiler didn't operate, the rear parcel shelf was not the finished article or the instruments on the dashboard so still a lot of work before the car gets handed to the press.

Disappointed, very disappointed.
Love the car and the vision but god I hope the build and after service are going to be 100% better than their communication with deposit holders.

That e mail could have been written better in 30 minutes by someone at primary school, even includes a duplicated line, never heard of proof reading.

Terrible.......come on Les take time and give deposit holders something better than that.

I received the letter and have seen the latest video- Its kind of comical and seemingly just set themselves up for ridicule! At least the 'oh fck' car park video was entertaining. TVR clearly need serious help in the PR department especially with deposit holders. I know they will all be reading these comments and thinking its trolls at work. Its really not, just look in the mirror- You have a chance here but your going to screw it up. Deposit holders are getting bored and will wander. Put up an online configurator, better pictures and maybe even a video diary whats happening? Or else the mushrooms will run!

I thought it was the best update so far - the duplicated line was a bit poor granted although I missed it the first time I read it!

A lot of it could be bull but I like to think it is somebody waxing lyrical about something they are passionate about, although it didn't feel like Les's words (not that I know the guy)

I think as updates go, it was sufficient.

The vid is not great and they could have told us how quick it did a lap!

New Factory confirmed too!

Everyone to their own opinion but I think every email from Les has been pitched perfectly. I like his sense of humour and I find it a breath of fresh air. As has been said by others, the lead time is long and therefore the release of information has to be measured but when there is some significant news, it is released (e.g. the factory - today).

As a deposit holder I am happy. The car is still being developed and refined and will be ready when it's ready. My guess is late 2019 and if that's how long it takes I can live with it.

Would be interesting to know the amount of EC support involved, which might dry out now.

Agree with the development / long lead time and requirement to control any sensitive information being released but why not put a mail together with all information rather than drip feeding 12hrs apart.

Being honest didn't think there was anything in yesterdays mail that was "wow" they are moving forward or gave a hint of excitement.

Could they set up a secure link on the web site for deposit holders where they could see a bit more of the car from TVR point of view as it moves forward.

Maybe just getting frustrated as not been able to see the car in the flesh yet, hopefully they have some viewings planned in 2018.

We have some news and it’s BIG – the factory, that is! 200,000 sq. foot in Ebbw Vale, soon to be echoing to the rumble and crackle of V8 engines as we head towards production. The Welsh Government announced officially yesterday that the site has been acquired and they are moving at high speed to get it ready for us – you may also have spotted that there was a mention of ‘facilities’ in the plural – watch this space!
The factory is more than ample in size to take care of our current and planned requirements as we expand up to full capacity over the next few years . We intend to make the factory an experience in itself – and once open, we will be encouraging all owners, prospective customers etc. to visit and take a look at what we are doing.

Work has continued on dualling the Heads of the Valleys road and this should be virtually complete by the time we are in production. It’s a beautiful drive on new tarmac without the usual congestion you might encounter elsewhere…It will provide an easy link directly from our factory to the Midlands via the M50/M5 (no estuary crossing), not to mention our office in Surrey via the M4!

More to come as we have it.

email says they have been testing the Griffith at Dunsfold (Top Gear track) and it was driven by a Le Mans driver familiar with the Dunsfold circuit. Ben Collins perhaps? Also took it on the runway. No mention of lap times but gives the impression it performed well. The pro driver suggested some tweaking of of the rear suspension dampers and final drive ratio etc.

Would love to know what sort of lap times they were getting....!

That side exit exhaust does it no favours on the audio front, particularly when its on the other side.
F1 created a noise faux pas, seems like TVR are heading the same way.

I am a deposit holder and am a little disappointed by both the car (design) and the communications.

Still I will leave the deposit there and see how things develop; I don't expect to see a car on my driveway until end 2019 so have ordered something else....
