I read a lot about Gordon Murray and how wonderful he is.

I know that very few cars are designed by one engineer.

Does anyone know who the other lead designers were that have had an influence in the design of the car that is currently presented and what other projects they have been involved with?
David Seesing. Worked on the new Bugatti Chiron.
Interesting. Thanks for that info.
If you look at accounts GMD is doing between 12-14 Mio GBP in turnover. Also from the pics on their team-event site i would guess there are 50-60 people employed so hardly a one man show.
Guess that was what I was driving at. When any form of criticism is aimed at the car, the majority on here seem reluctant to accept the possibility that anything can be wrong as it "was designed by GM".

So I was trying to find out if there were any credible automotive designers involved as part of the team over and above Mr Murray as looking at the car's outward and inward appearance (photographs only) it's not obvious.
No offense taken. It was just my impression that "designed by Gordon Murray" is often interpreted here as "the godfather of the McLaren F1" did all this by himself on a sheet of paper in his livingroom and that's just not the case. It was a team effort. I think i remember that Les at point stated that GM came and said "this is your chassis, don't mess with it" and he was pretty much out for the rest. So i don't think he was very much involved in the visuals personally although they will have asked him.

My take is, that design was a certainly a lengthy, iterative process with lots of dead branches and at all times the stakeholders had their say in it. Les said in one video that they spent 2 years in the actual design process. If Seesing is a credible designer i don't know, but ultimately it doesn't matter.

I'm pretty sure though that the technical underpinnings of the chassis will be stunning.

When I took the Typhon to GMD for them to look at there were about 15 engineers pouring over the car, looking at all different aspects. There were people focusing on the instruments, others how the doors etc operate, others on the aero and general design.

There was no shortage of serious people involved in this project. It’s why I suspect it’s going to be a cracking car.

I want it to be, but there are to many areas I look at on the car that I personally think are just wrong and now matter how it drives, I wouldn't be able to live with those kind of details.

It's maybe an OCD thing.

Simple to do when the engine is mid or rear mounted. Not so when engine is at the front!

I like the look of the tweaked lights on GM's Instagram. I'm struggling to spot the difference at the rear?

Looks a lot more aggressive from the front...and ‘slicker’ at the rear. Rear wheels seem to have grown an inch wider too.

I believe that with Gordon M's 'previous' with McLaren, they had access to the wind tunnel....and some help from the folks there?

What GM's input at that point in time was, I don't know, but I was under the impression that he assisted with the "aero"?

Beware, the sketches are incorrect from a techical-perspective view, it is very 2D-ish, that's why it looks so good. Probably impossible to photograph this way. So no use in comparing it to the infamous fish-eye front photo. The two are actually showing the same thing.

The lights on the sketches are extremely cool, but i doubt they will pass any admission procedure.

Good to see the Mk1 Tuscan grille is possibly back in the game.
Can it hang on this time. hehe

The change of lights really removes the funny-face issue some were complaining of imho.
There seems to be nothing wrong with the shape of the intake without the ‘eyes’.

Is this an admission that the front is wrong or is GM just playing with some pictures and posting them on Instagram?

Presumably at this stage, quite a lot could still be changed?
