Are there other forums in here where posters are feeling the need to redesign and photoshop new Astons or Porsches or Jaguars etc?
Don't think people are that passionate about the marques you mention and of those there are too many models available for people to really care about a single one.

I think you’re right.

Also perhaps with tvr there was always a bit of room for owners to alter our cars a bit, great threads on here where people have done all kinds of cool modifications and body work.

That maybe makes people think it’s more likely this car can be changed?

What you clever 'puter able types conveniently forget is that you're putting a 2D addition into an existing 3D hole; it may improve that view, but what's it going to do to all the infinite other views?
Which ones ? Of the front ? The grille modification is the only mod that can realistically be implemented. Works from all angles.
I think TwinKam is referring to the RHSSP (Rod Hull Sidekick Side Profile) per your own pic, Bullit:

How would those bars work with that?

Someone needs to buy the 3D data and do a proper modelling job smile
Exactly that, thank you Mr FP ...and from various viewpoints other than that in which it is drawn in; it ain't easy this car design malarkey!
Yep, but you wouldn't have follow that side profile but could attach everything to the (flat/slightly bent) plane behind it. It would add some visible depth by being offset from the side-profile, which i think should look great. (I'm just wondering how it would look if the bars would be lightly luminated on a black car !!! ).

@FP: is that "RHSSP" your own creation or is that a true term ?

Or maybe some carbon bars. Or a single horizontal bar bent and formed with the TVR logo.

I assume a lot of Aston fans discuss the new Vantage...

When AML launched the Series 2 Vantage in Lime Green there was criticism and another launch car that did the rounds was in red which didn't look good. However now customer cars are arriving and people agree it appeals to a different sector than the older traditional Astons, it complements the DB11 and in some colour combinations looks fantastic. Everyone has got over the mouth/grill and are discussing how blooming good the car is to drive, a significant leap on from the previous Vantage. (However it is £150k)

I saw the new DBS "supadoopa" at Goodwood last week...wanting to dislike it (as it looks quite awful in some pics)..however it is quite stunning in the metal..and all in proportion (which took me by surprise)...I don't like the inside though (not to my taste at all)..however there can be no better car for wafting around the south of france with.... Isabelle Adjani sat alongside in the passenger seat...wobblewobblewobble

Completely agree with this, watched both first reveals online, was devastated that new Vantage had lost most of its beauty, and dismayed at new TVR because it simply wasn't the outrageous but stunning looking car I was hoping to see. Having seen the new Vantage a number of times now in the flesh any misgivings I had previously have completely disappeared. I'm hoping this will be the case with the Griffith smile Although sadly if I had a spare £90k at the moment it would go on a used V12V rather than a new Griffith. Or maybe that isn't so sad biggrin

Maybe they should put a set of teeth in there as everyone is so keen for there to be a mouth.
If I was any good with Photoshop I'd have a go myself.

When I first saw an E-Type as a small kid I had to have one. When I first saw a Tuscan I had to have one. When I first saw a Sagaris I had to have one. When I first saw the prototype F-Type I had to have one.

You buy cars like these with your eyes and with emotion. Nobody needs them. This thing just looks wrong, aside from the awful front end the rest of it looks like it was designed by a committee at Scion. Whatever it is it's not a TVR. The fact that ever since it was first shown people have been trying to redesign it tells you everything you need to know. It's a pig. And you can put lipstick on a pig but it's still a pig.

As we're talking Astons, I think the lipstick on this one looks excellent!
