New TVR still under wraps!
Discussion
The car looked very good today. The crisp edges really do work well and the whole car has a very solid feel to it.
The seating position is classic TVR through and through. When you’re old enough to have driven certain sports cars you always remember sitting in your first TVR and feeling wonderment at a gear stick that has strangely been put in the right place. A steering wheel that is where it logically should be and pedals where a humans feet actually are. You don’t need to be a gibbon with rickets and a broken neck as with so many sports cars.
It’s a nice place to sit and does feel very solid. It has a feel of strength and quality that I’m afraid Wheeler’s amazing creations could only dream of having. And knowing the design that is under that skin just adds pure excitement. It really is a car that should deliver bang for buck.
You get the feeling that this is a project that is on the final furlong and that as with any race that last furlong is the hardest and most complex and I’m sure a massive ball breaker for all involved.

Couple of pics and a video - hopefully not upside down this time 😂

Having seen it for the first time today 'in the flesh,' I have to agree that it is better than photos suggest. Headroom is OK too, just about, I'm 188cm (6 ft 2 in old money). Better than my Cerbera anyway.
I noticed Les was about the same height as me too, but I'm sceptical about these stories of Peter Wheeler fitting in all his cars. My head touches the roof in my Cerbera and PW was supposedly 3 - 4 inches taller.
Height and fit will of course depend on if the extra height is in your legs or upper body. Each potentially causing different fit issues depending on car. So a 6’7” person with long legs could fit but a 6’3” person with long body may not for example.I noticed Les was about the same height as me too, but I'm sceptical about these stories of Peter Wheeler fitting in all his cars. I'm 6'4 and 120kg.. There is more room than my Cerb.. On a par with the Missus' Z4 which is apparently the benchmark they used.
Having sat in and tried a Z4, that's a very good comparison I had forgotten about. I think the reason I find (at 6ft 2) that my head brushes the roof in my Cerbera is that I prefer to sit up fairly straight. The seat was set fairly upright in the new car. I didn't check how adjustable it was (probably won't be the production seat anyway). I don't go for the reclined look because it gives me back ache. In other cars, I still almost bolt upright if I can. Having pump up lumbar support in the Cerbera is a bonus.

Do we know for certain that the deposits are included in the company accounts though? Presumably if the deposits are being held in escrow, that would make them assets of a third party rather than of TVR, in which case they might not appear in the accounts at all. I'm not an accountant though so I may be barking up completely the wrong tree...
It's been confirmed several times the deposits are not in escrow and are unprotected. I guess it's then a reasonable assumption they make up part off the companies assets.

The accounts make no reference to deposit holders. So unless they are somehow "off balance sheet" in escrow deposit holders are unsecured creditors. There is a charge over all of the assets of TVR Automotive. So in the unlikely event of a failure the pecking order is presumably HMG, charge holder, Welsh Assembly, bank, unsecured creditors. The assets of the company are mainly intangible.
Thanks for the explanation. So is the working assumption then that the deposits are included in the ~£3.87m 'loans' figure under the section 'Creditors - Amounts falling due after more than one year', or that they are included in the ~£1.35m due to 'other creditors' under the section 'Creditors - Amounts falling due within one year'? Given that the deposits could theoretically be withdrawn at any time, I'd have thought it would make sense to include them in the latter figure, but this doesn't seem high enough to include all the deposits (plus presumably other creditors) - hence I was wondering whether another explanation could simply be that the deposits are not actually included in the accounts at all. I attended the Topcats day today. Saw the car and had a chat to Les. The car is a lot better looking in the flesh than the photos I’ve seen. I asked Les how close the car is to the planned final product. He said very close. - Some changes to the front grill and the splitter underneath it and apart from crash testing and homologation that’s about it.
That sounds like an awful lot to me. Redesign of the front? Surprised nobody has picked up on this yet! How many cars are required for crash testing? Crash testing will obviously be carried out on a production ready car; up to press there is no factory, no tooling, and one pre-production mule. This could be 18-24 months away, no?robsco said:

At this stage of the process you would expect him to have a definite view as to when the factory will be up and running and the first cars delivered. The fact that he isn't saying speaks volumes. For many the fact that he keeps repeating the same thing many times means it's ok Maybe his news to deposit holders in the next few days will provide a definitive time line to launch, lets face it they deserve at least this for their patience and support.
The trouble is he knows that so far the
