It's just one more big issue for TVR.
Customers will be faced with the prospect of a 80~90K new TVR or buy a 3 year old Macca / Audi R8 / Aston etc..
It all adds up to a lot of competition.
Not if you want to service and repair them.Customers will be faced with the prospect of a 80~90K new TVR or buy a 3 year old Macca / Audi R8 / Aston etc..

Audi serviced my V10 last year.. they changed the oil and brake fluid, and charged for 5 drain plugs which they claimed to have changed.
That was £600 and something, for oil and brake fluid, using rubbish shell oil
I put the car up on my ramp to replace a leaking dry sump pipe and subsequently discovered they probably didn’t actually replace all of the oil.
If it wasn’t for the need of the British buying public needing to see a service stamp I’d do it all myself.
I guess expensive doesn’t always equal quality.

That’s what I mailed to the head of Audi UK, who swiftly arranged me a refund. That was the state of my new oil after a 6 mile drive. I’ve decided not to use those chaps again and get the annual service/stamp done by Europe’s leading Audi/Lambo V10 specialist, and do the rest myself.

TVR will be largely Mustang running costs and reliability levels, plus a bit for the TVR factor.

I'm confident the C8 will not add much to TVRs undisclosed number of problems. First, it will be way above the Griffs price bracket and it's catering to a different audience imho. The C8 will be aimed at the Ferrari/Lambo/McLaren crowd that fancies mid-engines and the more technical (as in gimmicky) aspects of driving. It's actually a good strategy, because the C8 will be very compelling offer in that cluster (unless they fail to prop up their interior-game).
The Griff is more aimed at the old-school, manual, raw V8, no frills guys like me. I don't give a f*ck about DCTs switching gears in 100ms, but i must have that third pedal and a stick.
And that is a big Amen to that, brother Steve The Griff is more aimed at the old-school, manual, raw V8, no frills guys like me. I don't give a f*ck about DCTs switching gears in 100ms, but i must have that third pedal and a stick.
