I'm just about to remove the engine and box together from a griffith, and wanted to check the best way to protect the sump and underside whilst it's out and resting on the floor, what do people use?

I can keep it upright on the lifting straps but would prefer it to be rested on the ground rather than hanging for the few weeks the chassis restoration is under way. So would you rest on the sump or blocks of wood front and back?
Thanks

I put mine on a home made cradle with castors on, it was originally a tool box trolley, no matter where I put it, it was in the road, so was able to shunt it around the garage more easily.

It will happily sit on the sump.
Put it on a pallet or some wood but as has been said a trolley will help keep it mobile and out of the way.
If the plenum is off poke some paper towel into the inlets so you can't drop anything down there.
