I have a 997 c4s and I'm thinking of returning to tvr, many years ago I had a yellow tamora with a t350 front end.. never stopped regretting getting rid of her, I've also had a lovely cerb. My question is, am I remembering with rose tinted specs or should I return to the fold, are most of the tvr on sale now sorted both chassis and engine wise. I remember the noise and the drama but I also remember the front end lift at 140 mph. Opinions please

It was an experience and to be honest, it's one of the things I remember with a smile

The fact you're asking a bunch of TVR owners if you should buy a tvr suggests you already know what you want to do. And you're correct - there is no comparison.

cool

I'll never forget how hard my old Cerbera was pulling at 150, absolutely awesome. The T350 starts so slow up around 130 whereas the Cerb was getting its second wind at that speed.

I had a 996TT a few years ago and have now had two tuscans since.

I assume the car will be purely a toy? I can't see any other way anyone would consider them in the same breath they are so different for practical purposes but as a toy it comes purely down to taste so anything goes. For me, the Porsche was just too ordinary when you weren't driving it like a loon whereas the tvrs are fun all the time. I'd happily have a 911 as a daily but, gt3 aside, not as a weekend fun car. Not fun enough imo.

They are two completely different cars, I have a 997.2 C4S as a daily driver, which I love, I have owned it for over 4 years, the longest I have ever owned a car by far, if I changed it then I would buy the same again, it is a great everyday car. In the garage I have a Tamora for the weekend, that is just fun, it is unrefined, noisy, uncomfortable but fun.

Daily driver - 911

Weekend car - TVR
