I just noticed the badge!

Reminds me of when I did Cadwell a couple of years ago in my silver TVR.

when scrolling through some TVR car ads, I came across this special made rear window opening like a third-door, a bit like say a TVR Taimar smile

I guess they must have strengthened some surroundings for such operation?

looks interesting though on this Griffith 400.

Have you enhanced that first photo? The colour on that Griff is quite spectacular.

Nope, but it has been restored.

Chatted a bit to the couple who own it, they are the first and only owners!

it looks so nicely compact that TVR Griffith, nice proportions, I guess that why I wanted one ( and because of the lovely sounding V8) and have owned one, now 26 years ago.... time flies.

looks lovely, what engine model?

I've owned a Griffith 4.3 BV in LHD around 1999 and was fantastic, specially would be these days with all that traffic and camera's.

Its lovely and driver involved feel, even al low speeds when it rumbles etc, you don't need to go fast in it, but a mm movement of the gas pedal, it goes of...

what I did not like back then is the power torque range which is great, but very short, but that you could change.

also disliked the seats... go fast left right and you as goes more those ways then you would like hehe so better seats would be an option.

but other then that, what a real car and great but friendly presence those have.

She's a 1995 500.

This. When I first saw the Griffith in Performance Car magazine there was a comment by John Barker that just resonated with me.. It was being tested against a 968 Cabriolet and a Maserati Spyder.

This car always seems to get a good reaction from people - just today a bloke shouted 'Lovely car mate - and MY name's Trevor!' biggrin

hah, thumbup great shout smile

and yes, people often stick their thumbup or waved,

when I had a Porsche 964 with a 3.8 RS engine and drove the same way, some people They waved differently, up and down, like, take it easy, please...

But in that Griffith, even when I went faster and with that sound, I got thumbs up and such, partly because (I guess) it seemed less racing and more classic in their eyes.

Nice photos. A reminder of why people went nuts for them in the early 90s.
