Hi,

In my never ending quest to make the Sag sound nice I spoke to ACT again yesterday.
Apparently most of the silencing is done by their end cans so they suggested fitting their end cans and rear section but not the main section which has the cherry bombs. They've sold a few this way.

Just wondered if anyone on here had gone for this option and if so what does it sound like ?

Any other options that people have gone for ?
I've tried the Clive Ford back box but didn't like it frown

Thanks
Paul

Thanks Alex, watched those a few times before.
Get the feeling I'd need to win the lottery for a setup like that.
Don't really understand why it seems so difficult to get the Sag sounding right.

One mans bag of nails is another mans symphony.

Bespoke anything is always going to have a cost attached.

I tried a few options and in the end had to spec and do my own. But it is the sound you want.

A few custom systems exist now by various people. The guys who did mine are doing a couple of others
for Sag owners as well.

Hi Alex,
Are the other Sag systems switchable like yours ?
I'm probably only after a fixed system. Can you send me info on who did yours or who else is doing systems ?
Like I said before, there are off the shelf solutions for Tamora and T350 which sound awesome so there must be something which sounds similar for the Sag ?

Cheers
Paul

Have you tried getting an X pipe fitted ahead of the cherrybombs? Might be a 'simple' fix. I suspect that it doesn't help the zorts firing in opposite directions.

Not tried a x pipe.

Will make a few calls this week to find out what the options are.

Ideally I want the same sound as a Tam/T350 sports exhaust, I'm surprised it's not been done before but I'm told for some reason it isn't that simple for the Sag...no idea why ;(

The T350 and Tam terminate in a single silencer which probably helps get the sound your after.

Is there a Tuscan you like the sound of?

I am no expert just, effectively, a simple engineer and the exhausts firing outwards in opposite directions is part of your problem. An X pipe will help 'mingle' the two exhausts sounds.

Alternatively, you could try the Racing Green 'Asian' exhaust ends. They replace the cans and point the exhausts backwards.

I think the Sag had a bigger diameter exhaust through out too, as standard.

I'm at Silverstone this weekend so there should be plentry there to listen to.
i had a Tam with sports exhaust which sounded awesome. It had separate silencers rather than a single unit but no idea who it was made by.

Wouldnt have thought it"d be too difficult to adapt tuscan or other exhausts for sag. Need to keep side exit exhaust though as dont like rear exit on Sags

Just found the Tam exhaust on powersperformance site. Wrong diameter for the sag and would be a tight squeeze but its a start.

Depending what you are up for but in general for the price of the act you can get it custom made local as per your liking wink

Try an X pipe on the standard system first.
