Hi,

Today's project was to fix the cable issue in my 96 4.2 cerb.

It turned out the the cable bundle under the center consult had been wearing agains the gear leaver damaging some of the wires. After having fixed the cabels if turned on the car to see if everything was working. The car started, but the red stop button is no no longer working.

How is the stop button working? I thought it might just be a switch to "ground" or "0" but it seems to be connected to a control box and not that simple.

I had this on mine once, the cure was to unplug the ignition box in the boot leave for a few minutes and reconnect, all then ok.

Good luck, I hope it is this simple for you.
