I’m after a stainless steel machine finish dash panel for a 95 500, any idea where to get one please?
If not available who does a decent carbon fibre panel that won’t crack when bending to re-fit?
Thanks in advance
Rob smile

I haven’t no. Are they machined stainless?

I have a "basket weave" / checkerboard steel dash and heater panel for sale.

Thanks for the offer but I’m really after a machine finish if possible

Machined, but ally not SS.

Very clever design for the switches/warning light panel that properly secures it rather than relying on glue. There's a thread on here somewhere but I'm f'd if I can find it.

I thought there was another one, but maybe not.

Half way there. Ally is a good compromise though. I was thinking stainless as a totally maintenance free finish smile

There is a clear lacquer coat (from memory), so virtually maintenance-free.

My luck is the lacquer will split when flexing the new dash into the original position, which is the reason I won’t repair the original veneer. I prefer the wood but the design isn’t the best hence the stainless steel machine finish.
The other options are hydo dipped or even a leather clad dash panel, it needs a flexible finish rather than something that can split. The Bertram Hill stainless version as shown by the previous link would in my eyes be perfect but I don’t think they are available off the shelf so to speak.
Act do a carbon fibre dash panel which again is stuck to the original mild steel sheet. Not sure if that would delaminate with a few hot and cold temperature cycles?
Hmmmm thinking cap is on..........

Have tried to e-mail you with regard to your dash for sale but your settings don't allow it.
Would you mind e-mailing me to discuss please.

.........
The Bertram Hill one was bought from someone ( garage owner ?) in the Bristol area who had made a batch of them, sorry cannot recall who it was but maybe a West country owner will know the source.
