Not sure if this picture's of interest but thought I'd share. It's installed in a metal body :-)

Probably gonna get a whoosh parrot, but what's the TVR 2.0 reference?! Assumed you meant 2.0l at first, but guessing that's wrong..?

In the early 90's, TVR released a few FI Rover V8 engine TVR V8S' for the Italian market.

The engine was linered down to 2 litres, to get round the then punitive tax regime in Italy for large capacity engined cars.

Could be from one of those?

^ Yes, that's exactly what it is, a 2.0 v8. The destroked engine's been mentioned on these forums in the past but I've never seen a picture. It's in the UK not Thailand as I originally thought.

I recently read in "TVR The Peter Wheeler Years" (thank you Santa) that uptake was virtually non existent (was it as many as 2...?) because nobody had noticed that the Italian tax system considered power outout as well as capacity... banghead
Which goes a long way towards explaining why no one has ever seen one ...until now.

^ When i first saw the picture I couldn't work out if the engine even had a nearside engine bank.

Unfortunately, due to the age of the thread, you still can't see one in here either. However, some evidence that the mythical 2L V8S did and in fact does exist in Italy. Clicky

Cheers,
Carl.

It was that topic that gave me the idea of the first S Club Eurotour, the plan being to meet the car & owner in Italy. I thought 4 or 5 cars might be interested but in the end 16 of us made the journey in our S's! The other chap pulled out just before we set off but we still had an awesome time.

Things have, literally, come a long way since then with 34 cars on our 2017 trip smile
