Is a TVR for driving or polishing
Discussion
We now have 55 drivers booked and paid for the Cadwell Park TVR track day on Tuesday 3 April 2018. This means there are only 5 places left to fill. The TVR Car Club Office closes on the afternoon of Thursday 29 March 2018 for the Easter bank holiday, for anybody wanting to book to attend.

Each to their own.
They bought their car.
They look after it lovingly.
They spent the thousands doing the power upgrades and fitting Ohlins or Nitrons.
They go to car shows and tell everyone about how fast it could go.
If only they could bring themselves to put miles on it.
But doing what they are doing gives them pleasure.
I am one of the 55.
My speedo says 105,000.
I don’t care.
I bought the car.
I bought it to drive it on the roads and on the track.
By driving it on the limit on tracks, I find I don’t drive it like a total cock on the public roads.
Each to their own.
There is no right answer. All answers are right for the individual.

I never realised a TVR has only two uses. It seems it can either be tracked or polished but nothing else ?Mine have always been daily drivers, some people by Ford/Audi/Volvo/Whatever for a daily driver and some of us buy TVRs.
I do find it quite strange that those who like to track seem to want to blame those who don't for the recent track day being cancelled and then re-instated. There are quite clearly enough people who want to track their cars but for some reason they couldn't be bothered to actually book.

Utter tripe. All it means is the majority don't want to thrash their car around a track. Can you only enjoy having a TVR if you race it?
By the way, I'd suggest that the membership is likely to be half the number you've quoted.
Partly right Paul.
We were unaware there was a booking deadline, as the only deadline with regular TDOs is the day before the track day, or the day the list is full, whichever comes first.
So the sudden cancellation without warning was a shock.
I had booked before the deadline, but could easily not have done so

Back to the driving or polishing question. I am firmly on the driving side but I also love to fiddle and fettle and when I do I often put things back cleaner than the factory did them. For example, yesterday I had the coil off and before putting it back I painted the bracket and noticed that the fixing bolts were stainless steel so I set up my buffing wheel and made them shine. I don't do this stuff to show it to strangers at car shows, I don't even go to car shows, I just enjoy driving it
