My new Toy's on it's way!

Hi Duncan!
It's getting there, slowly but surely. It's going to be a shame to cover it all up with the dirty, filthy body again. However, that will be a big day (as you well know). Just like builders celebrate topping off a roof, I may have to sink a few on that day! Still, there's a few jobs in the way of that event.

Following on from the significant ‘rolling’ event, the next big step has been completed (yey):
I used my lift to lower the engine and box down and rolled the car under for alignment. The engine mounts were resisting alignment but a jack under the sump sorted that.
Wow, it’s almost like I’m finally making some progress!

I think Powers rebuilt the engine.
Looking good Lee.
Not much more until the body is ready to go on?
I think we had a minor celebration when the engine went in and a pretty major one the day the body went on.
In fact, I think I took everyone who had been helping me, and their better halves, out to a curry and quite a few drinks. It made an expensive night, but I wanted to thank those who had given up loads of their time, without which, I probably still wouldn't have finished.

Made life difficult for yourself not putting the brake lines in before the engine.
Don't make the same error with the front roll bar...put it in place and cable tie it to the front chassis verticals before putting the body on. Don't fit the bushes and clamps as they foul the body when it goes on.

Hi Steve
Why should the engine hinder the brake lines? Surly they just run up the chassis and past the block? I’ve heard the issue with the ARBs but I’m fairly sure body missed the clamps on the way out. However, I won’t take the risk!

They run down from the bulkhead, along under the engine mount, then across the front cross member so very difficult to feed them into place without scratching the chassis and ending with a pipe with multiple kinks. Why should the engine hinder the brake lines?
