Yep, and wasn't there some more or less stringent regulatory alignment coming with the latest Brexit-version ? All in all i'd say there's little chance you will dodge this.

The way you dodge it is to not buy any car made after 2021 and keep our old clankers running as long as possible.

That'll teach em to mess around with us.

Used to see one of these plugged in near my office in hipster hoxton. 99k, wtf. And the irony of 1800 miles.

Looks like the new Ferrari stole the interior design of the proposed new Griffith. So "IF" the Griffith got built people will think TVR stole the idea from Ferrrari (Not that I'm a fan of the proposed new Griffith interior/exterior). I say proposed as I can't see it being built.

It's £10k less on another well known car classifieds site:

I came across it when I was looking at 911's to replace the Tuscan, didn't even know it existed. If it was £30k I'd be seriously tempted.

Ah, not so fast, they thought of that one, too:

...
In addition to banning the sale of new fossil fuel cars, the government said it would stop granting National Car Test (NCT) certificates to such vehicles by 2045.
...

from: https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-48668791

Which basically means they'll take old cars off the road. It's 25 years down the road, no-one knows what the world will look like then, so probably no reason to worry about it now. But given current climate developments, that step may come way earlier and may be altered to include other "politically incorrect" vehicles. But when the time comes, it probably won't hurt that much, as petrol prices will have been taxed out of sight by then anyway.
That article is about Ireland. They never even brought in National Car Testing (MoT equivalent) until the year 2000 (!) and the article fails to mention it is required every 2 years from a vehicle age of 4 until 10 years old:

https://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/travel_and_r...

They have an exemption at 40 years old, as we do. This is a nice exemption too:

"Cars permanently based on islands that are not connected to the mainland by road do not have to be tested."

Just seen your edit: The article and your link contradict somewhat. Your link is about regulation concerning NCT, with said excecptions. My interpretation would be that this is regulation belonging to the "old world", where NCTs have the main-focus of making sure cars are safe to drive and you don't care about a few classic oddities as long as the majority is safe and sound.

The article describes the mind-set of the "new world": "The aim is to ensure that all new cars and vans on Irish roads in 11 years' time are electric vehicles.". It's born out of environmental concerns, so i could well imagine the exceptions your link states will simply vanish.

But as said before, maybe the few oddities will still be allowed, but it's a different motivation.

The thread ought to be retitled if PH would allow. As it is it’s just embarrassing.

That´ll be very amusing to follow.
In most areas there you even "can´t" tumbleweed buy any EVs and 380V is quite exotic as well.

Pointless. His girth is recognisable in a gimp suit.

There isn't even a factory refurb start date yet. All the promises of starting production at a smaller facility (LE called it a training facility) if there were any factory delays are just that. Promises, promises, promises tumbleweed

Why would that be embarrassing? Many a time I've come out of a gay bar with gay friends. I never understood certain other mates asking similar either. I'd be more embarrassed (for myself) if being in a gay bar mattered TBH.
