Thanks for the replies. Interesting how varied the info is across the different press and social media platforms about the quantity built. Either way, they are pretty rare.

I’ve had a good response to my * wanted * posts on some of the FB Groups. There’s some really nice cars coming up over the next few months by the looks of it. There’s a beautiful looking 2004 MK2 in one of the most outrageous paint schemes I’ve seen on any car - Cascade Copper. It spent a few years in Hong Kong, has a tan interior with Baboons Arse instrument binnacle. I’m so tempted by it, but need to focus on the MK3.
The Cascade Copper MK2 you refer to is one of my old cars. If there’s anything you would like to know, feel free to send me a PM.

With a budget of £50k i would bide your time and hold out for the holy grail of Tuscans the '06 vintage Mk3 Targa with the wavey dash, even rarer still with only about 25 built

Weren't post 2006 cars finished by Str8Six or others, after TVR closure? I think so.

I believe the unfinished cars on the production line when the factory closed in '06 were bought by RG and Str8Six and finished in house, all the later '04/05/06 cars were built to a very good standard in my opinion, not sure of the exact numbers built after that, you could give Str8Six a call for further info, the latest registered Mk2/3 Tuscan convertible (light blue) i have seen was on a 2014 number plate.

They're all fantastic cars whether you go for the Targa or Convertible smile

Last date cars were produced by TVR was 2006. However, some unsold, unregistered but completed cars (at the factory and in dealer showrooms) were taken by Capital Bank, IIRC, as they were owed money. They eventually made it back to dealers a couple of years later. These, when sold, were registered later. I have a Tuscan that was one of these, built in 2005 but not registered until 2008.

As above there were also a few partly built cars that were completed by dealers and registered later too.

Nikolai stored the unfinished cars at the Multipart facility at Crick near Rugby , after TVR went into Administration Multipart held TVR spares. I was told by a Multipart Director that after a few years Multipart claimed them as settlement for the outstanding storage fee .

InJune 2009 Blackpool TVR Club were invited to show their TVRs at the Multipart families day at the Chorley warehouse.

Some people did turn up later biggrin

My 2008 car, now with Ben Samuelson, was a capital bank car, factory finished.

John, i have the customer specification sheet for 1126 (your car) and it was ordered by CAPITAL BANK (Customer Sirolla ) on the 10th March 2006 ... long before administration . A number of cars were ordered by CAPITAL BANK others for TVR Stock , so I'm not sure of the Capital Bank involvement ... There's no evidence that they took them as settlement of Debts.

My non-S has front splitters.
I had them fitted as I found it a little unstable on the autobahn. The splitters made a BIG difference.
I also upgraded to the large front discs.
I wouldn't change the badge, its not an S and I'm not a sad bcensoredrd.
I don't think it's question of being a sad bd..I think it's done to attract the £10k premium that an "S" Pack cost in 2006 smile
Yes, I'm trying to say I would never try to disguise a car to pass off as a more valuable car.
My 2006 Convertible was an absolute steal when I bought it in 2009 for £24k so has always been financial 'in credit' so to say.

When I wrote off my Mk1 Tuscan in 2009, I told my Wife that I wanted a Convertible but couldn't afford the £36k/£40k going rate at the time.
She set about searching and, remarkably, found two at £24k.
My 2006 in Bentley Sapphire Blue, (since resprayed to Ferrari Pearl Alloy) and a 2005 in Orange, which looked very much like the one above.
Why the hell I didn't buy them both, I don't know. silly

Yes, the timing sounds right, I bought the 2005 chameleon orange Tuscan in late 2010 for £26k from Racing Green. It's only had one other owner before me, yet it was also for sale at Dream Machines in April 2009 for £24k. So I guess it sat around for about a year between dealers

That's interesting, mine was registered to the Royal Bank of Scotland (this government seem to like Tvrs and banks) as 1st owner, then shortly afterwards was sold via RG to the 1st genuine owner who was 2nd on the log book, seems an odd way of doing business supplying cars via the banks unless the wolves were at the door confused

Back on track is the red Tuscan convertible that featured on top gear with Jackie Stewart and James May driving around Oulton Park on the convertible register ? smile

Yes, It's the 3rd car on the register ... the Video is/was on You tube but kept being deleted because of copyright.. The URL is in the 2nd WIKI.... although I understand that car was a bit like Triggers Brush .. its had a few engines in it . It was in the "Barn" for a long time , it was used like a "mule".
It still plays from here :-

It does sound like the one and its incredible it sat around for so long at that price.
I think we were soooo lucky to get them for so little.
