Hello

Tvr Mads have a Tuscan on there website with 142k on the clock that dos not put me off it looks like its been looked after.

Just wondering if any old owners out there can shed some light on things.

And what you Gents may think?

I'd be interested in what the Cams/rockers looked like on the wear surfaces (when was the last 12K tappet service done) & what oil is used (weight) along with what the hot/cold oil pressure is at idle.
At that mileage its possible general wear and tear would be present in the cams and rockers if they hadn't suffered from the odd dodgy material part/maintenance abuse/rebuild as occasionally afflicted S6 engines valve gear. The mains/big end bearings may be worn and in need of refresh , though the latter doesn't seem to be often reported unlike Bim V10 bottom ends it could be that not a lot of S6 engines see such mileage without some rebuild /refresh so could most high milers may have had bearings replaced as standard practice not because they were needed? if its using a heavy weight oil say 10/50~60 over the standard 10/40 and hot oil temps @idle are low (sub 10psi?) it may be worn bearings or just need a new oil pressure sensor etc as these can vary a touch. These are just general obs from owning an S6 engine'd TVR when new (circa2005) and having a current earlier 2002 engine'd S6 car with about 36Kmiles on it.
Those with more engine rebuild exposure or higher mileage S6 engine'd TVRs may be along shortly.

Thank you Sir any Feed back is so so Good
My main thinking is fuel lines from tank to fuel pump
And to the fuel rail all so must have a look at the chassis next to the exhaust/manafolds

Would lov to chat to the last owner not about any price he let it go for not bothered about that just information on what's he done and why change the front indicators and any other changes.

Would love a 3.6 Mk1 Tuscan with high miles but this one looks like it's been used and looked after.

I must stop looking at it... 8-)

That one at TVR MADS looks a very well cared for example and I’d bet drives mush better than many of the “garage queen” Tuscans.

I think there is also a comparatively high mile one at HHC too (albeit a MK2).

Just to give some heart to OP.....And I've posted similar data on the Tuscan and Speed 6 forums.

My Mk.1 S ('04 plate) is now around 103K miles. I went for the 4.3 rebuild at about 50K miles in 2012, when Jason commented on a noisy 1/2 time bearing at previous service.
Usual running in - new clutch when car returned for 1000 mile check and oil change. Car gets used - try to do a European trip every year plus UK events. Have done a couple of track days.

December 2019 I did the Surrey Rolling Road shoot out with Joolz. I was happily surprised to see it make 412.9 bhp and ~ 360 ft.lbs. Both Joolz and "its all yellow"(on here) asked if it had been mapped, and by whom as it was the strongest normally aspirated Speed 6 engined car on the day...think it was also well up with the 4.7 AJP V8s. The car had never been mapped - just the standard 'set-up' by the Str8Six crew during subsequent servicing.

I've had the usual electronic 'foibles' during my ownership...plus a new steering rack, but in the main it's been good. Certainly gets regular thumbs up when out and about.

If the car has been regularly serviced by a respected garage and cared for by previous owner(s), then high miles shouldn't put you off. I believe Jasper Gilder and 'Shorts' (on here) both have cars with mileages above 200K.
