Rebellion didn't finish 1+2 at Le Mans.
Oh yes they did.
Les Edgar spent time explaining that to me.
The Le Mans 24 hour race takes place in Europe.
Les described some kind of complicated ranking system, where teams from other continents have lap deductions.
There is a complex formula taking all sorts of factors into account, but roughly it amounts to half a lap per hour, although it does depend on there being a measurement of wind blowing from the west and the Sun is not shining at midnight.
Therefore both the Toyotas had a 12 lap deduction at the end of the race.
Would you believe it, that was just enough for TVR to take 1st and 2nd places, by a whisker.
Think of it as a the Les Edgar Balance of Performance.
For some reason unkown to Les, TVR were never given any silver cups for 1st and 2nd positions, but he had some cheap ones knocked up by Ratners and how nice, because they also presented him with a prawn sandwich from Marks and Spencer.
(Quite an old joke, hope you get it. https://youtu.be/sKtBkVrqYYk )

You could argue he achieved what he set out to do.
Built a new Tvr, went racing and won.
Job done.
Very very loosely. He didn't win a race with a TVR, the Rebellion was sponsored by him and won a race due to balance of power. Built a new Tvr, went racing and won.
Job done.
That's like saying Oracle won last Sunday's Bahrain GP

Has anyone actually seen the car since it was first shown to the press? Maybe it could be raffled off as a 1 of 1.
Yup, several times, last time at the press event for the london E grand prixI do like a sensible size GT coupe, especially a rarity that you don’t see coming towards you every day of the week. That would’ve been one of its big attractions. I actually have always liked this car and certainly would have been up for a two or three year old example as my daily. Sadly, that will never happen.
Just to add, the fact that it would never be the fastest car in the world doesn’t matter. The fact that it is rare, very usable on today’s overcrowded roads and puts a smile on your face is enough.
You can't buy the car, because they only build one for himself...
but but but... you can always buy the Brochure, did not knew they made any...

I wonder if it is exempt from an MOT because as a prototype, it does not have UK Type Approval, and is classed under this heading:
Up to all the tricks.
You know the manufactured date of that car, is about 2 years after the Goodwood unveiling.
The Goodwood car, was the Griffith Apparition Special Edition model. -
Might need to be careful about claiming it is a development / prototype car. They must eventually be scrapped.
Perhaps there is a get out from that destructive end.
Definition; prototype:- A first or preliminary version of a device or vehicle from which other forms are developed.
No other forms were ever developed, so it could not have been a prototype. Phew!
On a different, but related subject. There is a YouTube video about police cars. It states they are not MoT tested.
Therefore no mileage records. The police sell them through auctions and often their own 'clients' do the bidding.
Cars are (might be) clocked, then sold.
The illegal practice was uncovered, by comparing the auction particulars, with the details of the mileage shown in the subsequent advert. Pretty easy to prove.
The winding back is not limited to just 5 figures ! Oh no. Well, you might not be too keen on buying a 200,000 mile car.
