To be fair QBee, it was getting a bit 'my car has ...... horsepower and is better than yours'. I'm sure that wasn't the intention, and I know nobody involved, but it was a bit tedious.
I apologise if I'm offending anyone. It is not my intention.
None taken by me. I apologise if I'm offending anyone. It is not my intention.
Meanwhile in true TVR tradition, I'm in a field in France. Brought a big V8 with me.
I've seen one TVR so far, a lime green Sag.
My big V8 is supercharged and bolted into my Rangey which towed my caravan here.
Nothing like it used to be. But it is fun watching all the people that don't do camping. Easy to spot, all the ropes neatly tied up when the tent comes out of the bag.

I last did loitering within tent at a Castle Combe track day in 2015.
Nearly froze.
Which was surprising, as it was 31st July.
I now have a caravan, complete with combi boiler, fridge for thefood beer and all other mod cons, including cooker, shower and toilet.
Just like yours I imagine.
Only thing I can't do is take both the caravan AND the TVR.
For that you need to spend 4 times as much and buy a motorhome.

...a statement equally applied to those who do do camping (properly), as we know that it's time well invested. I've seen one TVR so far, a lime green Sag.

It's something I hope they still teach in Scouting.

Why the willy waving competition? It used to produce X BHP on A's rolling road and Y BHP on B's rolling road, and now it's even more on A's, so I want to wave my willy even more......
How does it put that power down on the road in your near 30 year old car RWD car with no traction control, ESP, ABS etc.? And it's probably on old tyres/Chinese tyres/tyres designed for a Nissan Qashqai. It probably gets off the line, especially in the wet, more slowly than a Dacia.
Who cares what BHP it produces, except when you wrap it round a tree?
As one who knows the person you are criticising, I can see you know absolutely nothing about him or his car.How does it put that power down on the road in your near 30 year old car RWD car with no traction control, ESP, ABS etc.? You have done this before to friends of mine.

If you are offended, I unreservedly apologise.

I was there that day so just for the hell of it, I’m going to say it was a reflex charcoal Sag showing around 373bhp??
You have a better memory than me. I recall the owner on the phone. I have a photo but not sure it was the same year. Gazzab said:

And breath…
Back on topic, nothing to do with the new TVR as there is nothing to say.
Stripped out a little more out of my Track Days Skoda yesterday and took it for a spin down the country lanes. fk me, it is so fast and surefooted I was really surprised. Can’t beat a FWD with LSD around the Twisties.
Drove my Boxster back late last night via all country lanes, roof off. It really is a nice place to be.
On the TVR front, I admit I regret selling my Vixen. It was horrible to drive, but now I am retired I would’ve had the time to play around with it and improve it…such a beautiful car.
I wonder where it is now. Anybody know?

I took my wife for a drive in it once. Very cramped, extremely noisy inside and a ride as hard as a very hard thing!
“Never ask me to go out in this again! “ That from the woman who bought it for me for my birthday.
She was right. Of course, it was a terrible drive, and at the time I was working very much full time, running my own little business with still two pain in the arse, (an exaggeration, but you get the drift) children at home.
Now I have time and children have all moved out! You can’t predict the future.
So, instead of enjoyable fiddling on the vixen, I am stripping down the rear hub assemblies to find out why my wife’s old X Trail handbrake doesn’t work well enough for a feminine forearm… thems the breaks!
