Uncle Les enjoyed being interviewed regularly, so that he could keep the expectant world informed about the additional models under development, the latest news about his new friends from uncertain businesses ready to provide funds to TVR, and about progress at the production facility in Wales.
Unfortunately, the development car fleet has encountered problems with fouled spark plugs. Having to drive on the roads near the factory at 20 mph is not suitable for high powered engines. Les has now realised that Wales is a totally unsuitable country for vehicle assembly, so a new plan is being devised to establish the feasibility of using a spare room at a solicitors office in Surrey. Change of address for various TVR companies is being arranged, as work commences on this new exciting plan.
The motoring journalists need to interview Mr Edgar again, to find out about this new phase of the TVR revival.

Does anyone know what the Directors of the various TVR companies do in their working days except moving offices or renaming companies? What’s the Cayman Islands thing?
Do any of the companies initially involved such as Gordon Murray still have anything to do with them or have they disassociated themselves?

Mr Edgar is a very busy man. He runs his country house hotel and golf club in deepest Surrey. He also finds time to run his dairy farm nearby and if you have watched Clarkson's farm you will realise how much work there is with farming. Oh, and he is the part-time chairman of a diddly squat car company apparently.
The number two in the little car company is a senior partner in a firm of solicitors who likes to race his old TVR.
Another is the owner of the Hotel Du France near Le Mans.
There is a heritage director and some others with amazing CVs who have built up companies then successfully sold them.
And there is a helicopter pilot.
Plus the man with the money, Mr Daniel Layton, an American, the boss of Ensorcia Metals with the Cayman connection.
So I'm not sure where they'd find the time to glue bits of carbon together even if they had some money.....

better to sell it and build some old new ones, but then upgraded with the right goodies and sell them not by the thousands, but for the ones who ordered such with each their own specifications, build on order and make some nice examples so customers can drool over those to order theirs.
and if that goes so good after a few years, and some new ideas for low production of really new born special TVR's (made in some corner in spare time?) can come to light (again build to order) then you can keep it alive under the right conditions, keep it small, over seeable.

Que commenters saying 'not possible, it would never be allowed to sell due to emissions/safety etc....' or 'all the moulds where scrapped' - both misinformed. Absolutely possible - production volumes just have to be kept low. Unfortunately too low to deliver an effective return on the money that has been thrown at it. such a shame the name is not been used to build new cars.

To make it work you either need a couple of million and ambitions to sell up to 250 cars a year. Or 100s of millions and mass production.
These people have recreated the Ford Escort. All of their cars are handmade in North Wales. So they have done it, maybe the same could happen for TVR.

In one set of accounts they said they would do a 100 car series if they could not go ahead with full production. These were to be for the track and the profit they would make would help start the main Griffith production. Or the Kimaera, the Lancia Delta 3 doors, the Alfa GTA... But those cars are sold for a lot of money. I'm not saying that this doesn't worth it. They are to mainstream cars what a Panerai is to a Casio watch, and the company needs to do a huge benefit on each of them to be profitable. Enjoy

Would enough buyers put 200.000 into a TVR re-creation? The price of a Sagaris in 2004 (50k) is now equivalent to 100k, already a lot of money (without taking in account crazy road taxes like in Netherlands or France).
We may have to admit that in Europe, this market is almost dead. And outside, in Asia, people do not really care.
What's even worse is (according to Advert in SPRINT) , he owns the words TVR and TVR POWER , I guess that means in future I have to say "I own a Sportscar built in Blackpool and not a ***" .
Next he'll claim he owns the letters T and V and R , kids spelling is bad enough now , but how will they cope with 3 letters they can't use

To the poster who asked some questions a little while back, this is taken from Evo magazine in Dec 2023 and June 2022. Nothing new but maybe answers your questions.

New Thruxton Facility = an idea that no one’s done anything with and I doubt owners or landlords at Thruxton have even had a serious enquiry.
On the same basis I shall be opening a Brands Hatch facility to restart production of the Bugatti T34. No time frame yet.

Their grandly named 'European Development and Brand Centre' at Thruxton, was being tested this week, but unfortunately a delay is now inevitable. TVR are used to delays, so that will not be a problem, but Jones Brothers (by appointment to TVR) have red flagged the new building, because it may not be fully waterproof. Something wrong with the roof (not again). As it has been named European, the European Union in Brussels will have to be consulted about many kinds of building regulations, sub-regulations and treaties. They are too busy at present to deal with TVR, because their tariffs on Chinese battery cars are about to cause a huge rumpus. The EU had no expectation that the Chinese would retaliate, but the German car industry are in a flap and have explained to the EU how international commerce works.

Mr Edgar will be looking for a much larger sum than that, but of course its only worth what someones willing to pay for it. All those years have been wasted, waiting for the new V8 Grif, sadly l think time is running out.
