I thought i made a quiet exit 
Dom, If you need a hand then post a time and date and i'm sure you'll have plenty of takers sweeping, sorting through stuff, painting etc.
What a crappy couple of years for the marque, lets hope this is the third and final disaster (Blackpool, Trevor and now this).
With the factory gone I think a lot of the community are relying on you guys and all the top indies to pick up development of these fantastic cars, and you're certainly leading the way.

There's only a couple of people Dom hasn't been able to contact and I've asked them to PM me so that Dom can call them himself to update them on any damage to their cars. As per my earlier thread - if your car's at Power and you've not heard from Dom directly yet, then please PM me your name and contact number and I'll pass it on to Dom.

Thank god it happened at that time of night so the risk to human life was minimal, remembering that the Fire Brigade are highly trained professionals.
It is great to see all the offers of assistance & I am sure Dom, after he has recovered from the initial shock of what has happened, will be humbled by it all.
Now I don't mean to go all H&S on everyone but if you are going to assist please make sure you wear protective clothing, this is not meant in nannying way, but from my memory there was a statement issued by the HSE about the dangers of handling certain types of plastic used in cars...I seem to remember for some strange reason master cylinder reservoirs.....that when burnt release dangerous toxins which can be absorbed into your blood if touched by bare skin.
Perhaps somebody who would have had training in this area could qualify this i.e. Fire Brigade

Echo what pretty much everyone else has said - TVR Power has been at the forefront of keeping the TVR flag flying since the demise of the factory. I hope for everyones sake that Dom and team will be back on their feet again very soon, and be back as an even stronger presence in the TVR community. Commiserations to all whose cars were affected and to Dom and the team.

For those of you with cars in close proximity or in the fire just one thing to consider.
Plastic burns with a thick black fine ash. This ash is acidic and goes everywhere. Electrical connectors, ECU, control boxes will potentially fail if not washed. In addition the smell from the burning plastic seems to be stored in any soft fabric. So seats and even dash and leatherwork may retain the rancid smell for years or indefinately to come.
We had one monitor on the third story of a building fail. Even though only the monitor and part of the workbench it was on melted the damage was horrific. All carpets and soft furnishings on floors 2-4 had to be replaced, all computing equipment was dismantled and each IC washed. Many PSU's had clogged with the ash and failed. The smell, intense to the point of making you vomit.

Sorry to hear about this awful news.
Heart goes out to Dom & the team and to any unfortunate owners.
Seeing how many posts this has, and all the offers of help etc makes me want to get back to TVR ownership - no other marque carries anything like the same 'band-of-brothers' type following.
