whats the red car next to it?
Mmm scratchchin Looks like the red speed 12.
It is, no secret that it's being built in Bristol Avenue. Both W112 and this new car were seen side by side if you went on a factory visit st the recent BNG/Backhome event.
I see! Didn't get to go, unfortunately frown

The question really is 'why are the side by side'?
The owner of the red car might want to keep it at home or on display?
Is the red one having engine work?
Is the red one providing input to the build?

The red one is in for some engine work so I hear. Fairly minor but had to wait in a queue.

Certainly not needed for mine as we have all the parts.

Some input from the son here;

The black one was apparently totalled in an accident, and the white one hastily resprayed black to carry on the GT series. This car continued on with the same chassis tub until the end, having worn nearly all the variations of the bodywork throughout its life. It's all documented on the Facebook page for the car (for which I don't have the link as I don't use it!).

Apologies for the confusion. That was just a random shot taken some time ago. Build is nothing like that...

The only acceptable alternative in reality.

If one has no option but to compromise then one must compromise wisely.

Anyhow, this project will take a considerable period of time to complete and if your interested I'll post something up at key stages.
Graham, A lot of us saw W112 at TAG11 this weekend, whetting our appetities again... Any news on the latest stage of your SP12 build project ??

Regards
Mike

From speaking to the man himself (my car was parked next to his, I doubt anyone even notice my humble Chimaera!!!), and also reading the info sheet, the new Cerb Speed 12 should hit the road sometime in 2012.

However, W112BHG will be back a lot sooner than that....

LOL - nice line, and yes, should be ready sometime next year, just in time for the 100 meters perhaps.

Progress is rapid at the moment with about 75% of the work completed including all the major engineering. As soon as everything reaches the pretty stage I'll post up some pics. There is still quite a bit of dust blowing around at the moment as the air boxes are made. I'm thinking reflex charcoal for the colour although I really like the idea of having it in purple.

I reckon choosing the colour will be your toughest task. biggrin

Best colour I've seen for a while has been Don's dark grey Sag. It just seemed a really mean look.
