Unfortunately my schoolboy French is letting me down.
VINCI have sent me an email that seems to want me to complete and send them a PDF form to validate my credit card.
Any help is very gratefully received.
I got a Sanef one and I can't remember them asking me that? I did however get the info on how to apply for it from Lowdrag, he may well be able to help you?

It seems VINCI may be the new provider of the Télépéage replacing Sanef.
My guess is the French government ran a tender & have awarded the contract to VINCI.
I could be wrong about this but all the old UK motoring forums talking about the Télépéage transponder link to Sanef & the links fail.
When you French Google "Télépéage" it points you to VINCI.
Just shown the VINCI validation email to a French friend and she said it was very badly worded and she couldn't make any sense of it.
Then I checked my Hotmail and VINCI have sent me email number six !!
This time confirming the transponder has been dispatched & will be with me in four working days.
I think everything will be fine, they just need to improve their communication.
Its a shame its not easier to navigate the site & understand the package.
The Télépéage is a fantastic little gadget that ultimately saves an awful lot of hassle when touring France.
Lets hope VINCI create a multi lingual site for us Ros Beefs.
When I got mine the Sanef website had an English translation but when you clicked the page to purchase the transponder it was only in French, wasn't a surprise to me as I reckon the French like to have us sitting at the toll booth! I used it a couple of times going to the Alps and at Christmas when we went down to Spain, was brilliant being able to sail through all the traffic, especially when you have 1300 miles to cover

It looks like you can get the Télépéage device from a number of sources (SANEF, VINCI or ALIS).
They all appear to be concession holders.
The ALIS website tells us that "a concession holder is a legal entity delegated by the State, by the means of a concession contract".
From what I can see ALIS offer exactly the same thing, the only difference is its free.
Seems like a no brainer to me, good tip from Motik.

Do you know if its available to UK subscribers? I know the website is in English but I suppose this doesn't necessarily mean it’s available to UK bank accounts? On the other hand there is nothing to say it isn't?

The contract reads "un compte individuel ouvert auprès d’une banque française ou étrangère, ayant au moins un établissement bancaire en France métropolitaine ou dans la Principauté de Monaco" which means you can use a UK bank account provided your bank has at least one branch in France or in Monte-Carlo.

I tried to get the Alis deal back in March but received this reply:
"I have received your mail concerning information about the tag. First, it is necessary to have an account in a french bank because the monthly invoice is paid by direct debit. There is no other means of payment. I enclosed the form which is to return with the paper document called RIB in France which contains your french bank reference. As we will receive all these documents, the tag will be send to you. The Liber-t Confort contract is free of charge, you only pay the travels done. The tag can be use on all french motorways but you benefit discount only with the concessionnary company who had delivered the tag. If you need further information, do not hesitate to contact me to the following number : 02.32.20.21.88.

I don't have a French bank account and whilst getting one seemed to be possible, it involved lots of charges and more hassle than I wanted.
I ended up getting a tag from another autoroute operator, APRR here:

There's a one-off 10 euro set-up/delivery charge then 1.50 euros for each month during which you use the tag (with e-billing). Seemed well worth it for the convenience. It arrived about four days after ordering via their website. My UK debit card didn't seem to present any problems, though I've yet to actually use the tag...
If you go for this you'll find that you need to put in a dummy French postcode into their website for the order to go through. IIRC I used 00000 and it arrived ok. The website is all in French but judicious use of Google Translate should get you through.

Good news, my Telepeage device turned up today.
However I am a bit worried now as they seem to be asking for my bank details.
I completed the application using my credit card so they will definitely get paid, surely the credit card is all they would need?
I just cant see why they would need my bank details too?
I also don't have a French bank account.
Here is a translation of the letter they sent me.
"It is with pleasure that we give following your request for Spare Telepeage Time.
We thank you to have chosen the service from VINCI Motorways and let us send you your badge and its support fixing.
Also read the enclosed “Guide Telepeage VINCI Autoroutes” to benefit fully from all the advantages of the telepeage.
In order to finalize your subscription, if you have not done so already, we thank you for turning over to complete your statement of banking identity in under 15 days.
We remind you that after the passing of the 15 day deadline, we would be constrained to deactivate your badge if we have not received the documents.
We remain at your disposal for any further information & welcome you very soon on our motorways"

Thanks Motic, I will complete the form using my IBAN & my BIC.That would mean they will have my credit card details, my IBAN & my BIC.
I cant imagine they could want more than that???

the easiest way to go is to use the "service commercial Telepeage" sales offices, which are at the entrance of the main autoroutes. Exact locations/ opening hours are on the web site. You fill in the contract, give your credit card number, and you will get the transponder for immediate use.
For foreigners as we are, you can only choose from following options
1. Euro 30 deposit for the transponder, Euro 2,00 every month you use the Autoroute, full fare
2. Euro 30 deposit for the transponder, Euro 20 per year, full fare
It works fantastic, especially in summer time when it is a major hassle to go through the tourist pack lingering at the normal booths. And for RHD: no need to monkey to the booths to get your ticket or to pay.
