I love starting my Chimp up. It just feels special - the pump priming, then the whirring of the starter turning the engine over (for some reason it reminds of an aircraft engine starting up) and of course the big roar as it fires into life. Totally different to the slightly smaller RV8 in my SD1 which feels a bit more 'normal'.

The other little thing I like is going into the garage hours after a run and it being cosy and warm in there. Brilliant!

All the things in the posts above plus ...that I live 5 miles away from work, but when I take the Tiv I get to work 40 minutes late... and it can take over an hour to get home!

I love the fact you have to open the boot to put the petrol in and when your at the petrol station having a quick look under the hood everyone thinks you've broken down. I also love the fact that EVERYONE in the petrol station is a expert on your car.

All of the above, particularly the start up.

But I love to open the door from the house to the garage & just look at the Griff with the overhead lights reflecting in those wonderful curves.

The fact that it's used as a car and not one of the 2 trips per year supercars. Other people can enjoy the car and it's not just for special occasions.

Near us is a set of traffic lights, when it rains a puddle forms just before it. Catch it right when the lights are red and when you come to a stop the puddle water that has splashed up underneath hits the hot engine and vents itself through the bonnet vents. Looks like a snorting beast biggrin

a lot might have already been said but for me the following

I've a Sp6 Cerb

the engine smell when getting in the car
puffs of steam when starting after a proper wazz down
when she fires up, is there anything better??
my little perfectly formed eblow dint in the padding on the tranny
the tranny!
the reflections as you drive on by
the love she is shown by the Belgians (since I live over in Belgium naturally)
controls at finger tips
the fact that every time I drive her she might try to kill me
her curves!!!
boot opener
door buttons (int and ext) and the look on peoples faces as they try to get in/out
the noise
the noise when you lift off
the noise going through tunnels
the noise when you lift off going through tunnels

but I think most of all is probably these 3

that feeling when you are warming her up in the morning of when she is ready, when she stops being lumpy and grumpy and she idles just that little bit more steadily and happily and sits there thinking to herself will I terrify/horrify/kill him today or will I be a good girl.

The fact that after 3 years I still can't believe I own her (or rather she owns me) and that I still smile as I get in & drive.

and lastly, her.

I'm sad and I couldn't give a rats arse.

Remote door popping. I just love the way it magically opens to welcome me as I walk up to it.

Cerbera 4.2:

I love the way that you need to have a tempestous relationship with the car, not just own it.

The curves, the shapes, the gorgous looks...
... and that it generally gets a very different reaction to other supercars of similar performance (people seem to like it rather than think "wkah!") (or maybe they do, but the cars so fast I don't see the reaction wink )

The totally unique interior - the high leather covered transmission tunnel at perfect elbow height, the swoops and surves of the dash, that there's no ignition key and that you need to know what the buttons all do, the small perfectly sized steering wheel with all the major controls at your fingertips.....

The fabulous noise and performance...... the way that the AJP growls, then roars, then howls and shrieks it's way from 4k to the beeeeeeeep to change up about 7k-ish.... then the relentless pull in the next gear, and the next, and the next....... 110mph in third; up into 4th and still pulling like a train to 150mph.... THEN change up into 5th.... !!!!!!!! PHEW biggrin

The barrage of pops, crackles, bangs on the overun...... the fact that it makes me drive in a gear lower than is strictly necessary, and often accelerate slightly to 4k just to hear it on the overun down to 3k cloud9

The fact that it is manditory for Cerb drivers to have the window down, at all speeds, in all weathers!! biggrin

The way that you really have to DRIVE the car! The steering is alive, full of feedback, instant responses, the need to regulate your right foot yourself, not via a computor or ECU etc; the immediacy of all the responses and reactions from the car, the way it makes you absolutely concentrate at all times, even when pootling about in traffic

The sheer performance of the thing..... the way it makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, your back sweat, and the slight tremble and shake of the adrenaline dump after a really fast blat......... like you've just experienced something and come back from the experience ALIVE!

The scrabble for grip on hard acceleration - then the slingshot up the road in a caccophany of noise, rev's, stones pinging from the wheelarches and under the car....

The way it makes you excited to be driving it, even on regular everyday mundane trips......

The buttons under the mirrors for entry!

The fact that it makes me feel excited and that I'm driving something quite special - can't beat it! biggrin
