No hassle with this one for a couple of years and can vouch for the fact it can be read by speed cameras so why should they be bothered? There must surely be some crims requiring catching out there?

The correct size and correct font one on my mx5 was used by the police officer to read as he checked the insurance status of the car. No problems from him. Car is pre 2001 though.

Interesting about the motorcycle single line ones being illegal, I had one on my Harley from new and was never pulled for it.

The top box would have meant the upper portion of a two-line plate would have been hidden, as they are designed for the US, where the plates are single line.

Newer bikes have a bigger space between the underside of the topbox and the base of the number plate mount.

I've had this arguement in the back of an M3 with Mr Pedantic"

Even though his in car picked out my details and even though I had been done on the congestion charge (so they read it too) the still did me for uncorrect spacing. Right size letters right spacing around all numbers but my spacing had been changed to write my name.
They said it looked really good (now knowing my name) and then did me anyway.

T0 55 ERS !!!!!!!!!! loser Good job there were no rapes, murders, assaults or muggings going on...otherwise they wouldn't have been able to sit on the motorway all day scratching the @rses in £50,000 worth of car! I hear they do excellent driving courses in between donuts though...rofl

Then again, thanks to the Con Lib acers...I understand that their P45s are now in the post as they are only keeping proper coppers.

IIRC, from somewhere, cant remember which car show it was, nor do I really know if the information is correct.

Apparently, sticker number plates where always illegal even on E-Types, until a particular MP owned one and decided that he needed to move the plate to improve airflow. He then set about publishing a "white Paper" or what ever they do, and eventually it became Legal, but only for E-Types.

Might be complete Bollx or pure Urban myth
