I really worry about your turn of phrase sometimes Martyn!

Any chance of blagging a lift down with you please? No point me taking mine as L&V won't cover it for any kind of track day. If the space is taken then no probs, or if they don't allow spectators.

Yep, very small chance of crashing Al. V-max is a very, very safe day overall.

Plus there is no pressure to go flat out till you feel comfortable with the braking distances (which are very long) involved at the end the straight, etc. Also you don't have to run with another car if you don't want to, again till you feel happy with the track and the speed. All making going very fast fun and enjoyable with no pressure.

Plus driving down in convoy with DeR is an experience too.

Come on, you know you want to!!

IF spectators are allowed, I'll be driving up from Cobham in Surrey (posh suburbs sarf of London mate) and would be happy to run someone up.

Craig,

Have we any word on spectators as yet?

Or alternatively, can I bag a passenger seat with someone? leadingsmiley!:

Hi,

I'm wondering if anyone has a spare passenger seat?

If you really want insurance try "Competition Car Insurance". I use them for trackday-only cover.

A goggle search will find them.

some questions:

how much - £150ish

how long is the day (ie how many runs) - In reality as many as you want.

how many people in attendance - Normally limited to 30 cars for safety reasons.

right, funky - I'm definitely up for this!

perhaps i'll invest in the S/S mainfolds/carbon plenum/chip/RRoad combo i've been salivating over...supposed to take Vmax to 175mph/290bhp!

No, no point, I know the car's not as fast in a straight line as the Griff so I'm not that bothered about trying to max it out.

THAT'S WHY I ASKED IF I CAN BLAG A LIFT!!!!

Get yourself going. If nothing else you will be at a 'half-empty' airfield, and therefore may be able to find a little area to 'test' the handling of the car safely.

Yes Al, you bum toucher you...get yourself there.

You'll be surprised how fast the 348 will be; craig w had one before his maser and 165-170 was seen I believe through the laser. I did 160 in the modded 5l Chim I used to have have at Brunters to put things into perspective.

Plus you get to fire the car round the bends on the way back to the start zone, great fun.

Yours in hope

Now... I am getting reeeeally worried about EuroHoon!

But, if you don't have space just say, "sod off, no you can't have a lift"

I am not going to razz my car at 170 plus without insurance. I don't care how wide the track is! Though my mate Kenyon has had 185 on the speedo, roof off... respect

Is anyone else going down from Yorks that I can get a lift with please? I can drive but it just seems silly if I'm not running it.

If the speed limiter has been removed from the SL65 in time I will bring that and passengers are welcome to jump in. The CSL has had some fettling since the last run, so that will be there if the Uber-Panzer is still manacled to 155mph..

I need to know from Craig whether or not he is allowing motorbikes along... Then a pillion ride on the GSXR1000 would be character forming.. Form an orderly queue! I'll bring some andrex....

Come on Craig, pretty please, let the bikes run!

Excellent

Phatgixer, there shouldn't be so many people in SL65s so this time I'll make sure I say hello!
(When I got to Silverstone I didnt expect there to be more than one CSL!)
