I would be interested to see what you decide wheel wise. Wide tyres can be pricey too. Are you looking at a road legal tyre or something more competition biased?

I run 15” alloys on mine. I liked a 225 section tyre. But choice is so limited I was forced to drop to a 205. But with only a 3.9 making lot less power than yours. I find them a tad narrow for the grunt.

On my TR7 V8 I used 11" wide rears and 9" wide fronts, but that is not remotely practical.

I always loved the look of Magnesium Minilites, the non Magnesium ones don't have the same look.

This question must have been asked dozens of times, will see what answers Google can offer.

High Hugh. Since my earlier post about 7 years ago on my 4.6L TR8, we have made a few changes.

We tuned the thing, getting 314 on the dyno, fitted a 5 speed manual from a 600 BHP Ford GT, & a cut down diff with discs from a 650 BHP HSV Holden. The whole thing is a lot tougher than the drag racing auto.

I did not want to tub the rear end, which limited us to 7.5" x 15 wheels.
We have 195 65 15s on the front, & 225 60 15s on the back.

This severely limits the power we can get down in low gears, full throttle in first or second will break traction on a dry public road. This keeps us just above 13s for a quarter. However the car is a dream once into third gear, & handles beautifully. It is still damn quick in the low gears, but requires an educated foot to get the best out of it.

With all the torque & not too wild a cam, with the manual box, it will drive away from about 1200RPM in 5Th gear, with the most beautiful sound from the exhaust, provided you don't ask for too much too low in the rev range. It is remarkably tractor like, & a real joy on the road. This is very important as having turned 80 today, I don't envisage much track or rally driving in my future.
