As a forty-something who was obsessed with Lamborghinis as a teenager - I'm happy to provide the following, barely relevant information:

The Lamborghini Silhouette came with 195/50x15 tyres on 8 inch front wheels
The Lamborghini Countach LP400S came with 205/50x15 tyres on 8.5 inch front wheels

smile

Oh yes - I love the wee car on the previous page.

....and just for the record the Silhouette had 285/40 15 on 11 inch rims at the rear. This was 1976 - two years before the introduction of the Countach LP400S!

I have 185/60R13 on a 8" rim, and they are not very stretched at all, you'll be fine on a 205.

Dan, did you drive a white Bluebird on the 2007 Scumball3000? If so you were two cars behind me when we tried to get out of the site in Stuttgart.

I have gone the "opposite" way, running 225 or 7 inch wheels. On the Boxster.
No problems with kerbing.

Yip, that was me. They drove big screwdrivers through the sill of my mates 924, but barely kicked the tyres on the Bluey.

Didn't they impound your 944 and you stole it back, or was that the guys with the Saab?

Our 944 and Andy Bayliss' 205 GTI got a clean bill of health, so it must have been the Saab. Id always thought that it was the Bluebird that had been impounded and then liberated.

They were determined to get us though: when the first examiner couldnt find fault with my car they got the English speaking fellow to try. The car had a week-old MOT and itd had quite a bit of safety related work completed - they were really pissed off that they couldnt prohibit it.

I spent thirty minutes stood there wishing that I hadnt been quite so cocky; and that Id let some other people go out first.

Is that you wearing a gimp mask? biggrin

I guess because it was Japanese, he didn't know where to start. He literally kicked one tyre and saif "OK, you can go", but they were going to impound the 924, so in the end, we ripped all the stickers off both cars and promised to leave the rally. Spent the rest of the weekend getting pissed and going to strip clubs in Stuttgart, then caught the ferry home from Calais.

I'm the guy dressed as a minicabber with his back to the camera in your pic, standing on the bonnet in mine. Guy in the gimp mask was trying to be a low rent Captain Chaos!

There was a picture of our car going out first, with the Bluebird and the 924 behind it; but I cant find it on the 2007 gallery page now.

It's 1/2" over what is 'permitted' as the maximum is set at 7.5J

You'll be fine, given your scenario.

'Permitted'? How there be an absolute when different manufacturers tyres are different sizes (for the same nominal size, with some being larger than the next size up from another manufacturer)?
