Hi,

Just found out my car has two locking wheel nuts on each alloy, and I only have one key...

Any ideas the best way to remove this?

Thanks

Hammer on a splined socket which is closest in size and pray it comes off without too much grief!

Halfords or Machine Mart do a Locking Wheel Nut Remover socket, which has a reverse thread inside to cut into the bolt. Only costs around £15.I think it makes the bolt unusable, but I don't suppose you're worried about that. I've always had these in mind, in case I lose my wheel nut 'key'.

I had an issue with one once after some Muppet cross threaded it with a windy gun then rounded it trying to get it off.. Eventually took a hole saw to it and literally drilled the nut off around the stud. Maybe grind the stud off the back of the hub. Last resort stuff though, you should be able to get a socket for it

Cheers guys, managed to get a socket whacked on - fortunately the studs hadn't been over tightened and came off relatively easily!

Speaking of muppets with windy guns, see my post to the parallel thread to this:
