Hi, I think this makes sense, but just reassure me if you will...

I'm changing my front pads, my drive is quite narrow, ideally, I'd get both front wheels off, change pads and go about my day, but realistically I'm going to change drivers side, then spin it round and change passenger side. Am I going to destroy anything with this approach, or will the pads settle equally? Ideally I'd avoid using the brakes during this little maneuver, but I can't guarantee I'm not going to hit them if a small child with a pack of kittens runs out or something!

It'll make no difference and do no harm even if you used the brakes moving the car (assuming you fully reassemble the first side before doing the other)

In any case you would want to work on one corner at a time, and pump the pedal to seat the pads on that corner before you move on to the next corner. Moving the car to get access to each wheel will be no problem at all.

I do this all the time with our own cars as the angle of the drive is such that jacking both wheels up could be unsafe.
Once you've done one side press the brake pedal to move the pads on that side into normal contact with the disc so they will work if required then just turn the car round.

Our previous cat died of an age related illness, our current two are alive & well & my sons - whose brakes were serviced the same way - are also in good health smile
