Can't get to the bottom of this. Having had a car before that had knackered anti-roll bar bushes, that is the exact noise I'm getting, just a dull knocking sound through the floor of the car.
Took it to my local garage who I knew had ramps with jiggle plates, which basically rattles the car to death and turns wheels all ways. Only thing he said was one drop link was knackered, replaced that. Still knocking. Front and rear bushes on the anti roll bars have no play. Second garage did notice however rear anti roll bar had somehow moved to the right and was knocking against strut? Yepee I thought, he moved it, still knocking?
Any abstract places I should be checking? , car mot'd incidentally 4 weeks ago. Thanks.

Is it more pronounced when dry steering or just over bumps?

Just over bumps, it sounds exactly like knackered roll bar bushes, same sound. Only thing I can think of that's left is strut top mounts, had a quick wiggle of struts but no real play or grittiness when turning steering.

Rear subframe mounting bushes are a favourite on these.

It sounds like the threads have stripped in the rear ARB bushing mounts. These need to be either retapped for a larger hole or helicoiled. They are usually overtightened ; there is no need to do that.

Subframe bushings can knock too.

What brand of drop links were fitted? I'd fit Ford or Lemforder only.
