The original road springs were replaced when we discovered 3 had broken, replaced by units from the motor factor. They are half the load weight of the originals which result in scraping arches when loaded. Originals are mega bucks, anybody know where I could source heavy duty replacement units?

Why did you fit them knowing they were wrong then?

It was MOT time-I told the garage to make sure they were heavy duty, this is the second set he has fit but are actually than the first.

Buy a reputable brand and they should be ok.

And last time I bought springs from Vauxhall for my Combo van, they were only around £80-90 a pair....hardly the end of the world to get the correct part.

Surely Astra springs cant be that much more ?

I recall they were £220 each. with the Astra a common project for customisation I thought..,you're right about the brand.
