My 61 plate Minin One has developed a creak from the rear suspension, when turning the wheel in either direction there is a fairly audible creak, I'm guessing a bit of WD40 around the struts but am a genuine amateur so would appreciate any advice.

WD40 is a mediocre penetrating oil and a cr@p lubricant - it is not what you want here. You really need to find out where the noise is coming from and then decide how to fix it. It might be a worn bush that needs to be replaced, or something touching that shouldn't, or a joint/bearing that needs to be replaced or lubricated, or something else.

Hi Blue62,

I wouldn’t bother spraying any wd40 on the struts. I would say that your problem is most likely worn rear anti roll bar bushes if it’s a creaking noise. They are quite easy to do and the bushes themselves cost around £5/6 for the pair. Have you noticed the creaking sound quieter when it has been raining? And more creaky with the warmer weather? thumbup

Definitely creaks more when it's dry and dusty, I think the bushes is most likely, will get it checked out thanks

Yes it will most probably be the rear anti roll bar bushes then. Even if theyre not worn the rubber does tend to dry up and a creaking noise does appear.
