Creaking rear suspension

WD40 is a mediocre penetrating oil and a cr@p lubricant - it is not what you want here. You really need to find out where the noise is coming from and then decide how to fix it. It might be a worn bush that needs to be replaced, or something touching that shouldn't, or a joint/bearing that needs to be replaced or lubricated, or something else.Blue62 said:
My 61 plate Minin One has developed a creak from the rear suspension, when turning the wheel in either direction there is a fairly audible creak, I'm guessing a bit of WD40 around the struts but am a genuine amateur so would appreciate any advice.
Hi Blue62, I wouldn’t bother spraying any wd40 on the struts. I would say that your problem is most likely worn rear anti roll bar bushes if it’s a creaking noise. They are quite easy to do and the bushes themselves cost around £5/6 for the pair. Have you noticed the creaking sound quieter when it has been raining? And more creaky with the warmer weather?

Definitely creaks more when it's dry and dusty, I think the bushes is most likely, will get it checked out thanksI wouldn’t bother spraying any wd40 on the struts.
