chuffing noise
Discussion
cars a w203 320CDI for a while now i have a chuffing noise that just isnt going.
It doesnt seems to be really affected by speed. its coming from nearside front (i think) It only really happens on right hand turns roundabouts and bends that keep it loaded for a time. First i thought it was a bearing but replaced that and its just as bad now.
obviously its RWD so rotating components are rather limited up front.
So im left thinking disk/pads but id have thought that if it was disk then id feel it and it would happen even when dead ahead.
any ideas?

not that im aware of no
That's not a very definite answer. I suggest you test it. I don't mean standing the car on its nose while you are in a four wheel drift - just gently take up the play in the brake pedal during normal sensible cornering so that you can feel the brakes just beginning to work, and see whether the noise changes.Gassing Station | Suspension, Brakes & Tyres | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
